Kaiwhaiki Hillside - farming on the lower Whanganui River. Fence posts and wire,
poplars and macracarpa, the cabbage trees standing strong, neatly spaced in the sun
while around them tumbles down.
Ruepehu - South West - from the Drivers Seat. The New Zealand love affair with the
road, driving and landscapes. The iconic Ruepehu dominating the sky line ghost like as
the driver climbs the last pinch up onto the Central Plateau from the South West.

Kerikeri '2008 - represents New Zealand to me, the country I grew up in. The
simple composition of half blue sky and half green grass. The people in the shot
are members of my family, but the viewer may choose to imagine themselves in
this scene since their backs are turned.
Grey Lynn Park on a misty winters night... working hard late into the silence of
the night.
This photo was taken on May 30th 2009 at Grey Lynn park. As a university
student a lot of my friends lived around the park and is probably the second most
important park after albert park for me as a uni student

We're not too sure where life is taking us, but we're certain it's worth the effort
Getting back to the roots of who we are
"I am" - our identity is that which we form in response to our learning and
our surroundings. In particular natural elements such as land, sea and
climate, play a strong part in molding the New Zealand nation.
Journey through the land

Who we are - A central memory that defines me is that of recreatcion and summer holidays revolving around boatsheds and batches. Some old doors, 4x2, and corrugated
iron and you have a NZ icon.
Who we are - As a people we are connected to the land - even pakeha - and especially to the join between sea and land.
Who we are is a beautiful sunset and red gumboots in a big puddle.
Who we are - we are nothing if not our children - some vivacious and loud, others quiet and watching.

Children in Tiquina, by Lake Titicaca, Bolivia. The monument commemorates the
War of the Pacific (1879-1884), in which Peru and Bolivia were defeated by
Chile, giving rise to a lasting animosity. The inscription reads: “Lo que un día fue
nuestro, nuestro otra vez será” – “What was one day ours, will be ours again”.
