ITINERARY
The LA Synch Mission is an unrivalled opportunity to connect and come face-to-face with many of America’s leading film and
TV music supervisors. The mission programme (2nd to 6th June) will include presentations and Q&A sessions as well as
enabling delegates to meet with some of the top music supervisors working in Los Angeles plus a number of independent
agencies involved in sync licensing. Confirmed details of speakers & content will be provided nearer the event date (the
intention being no later than 2 weeks before the start date of the mission). During the trade mission week, there will also be a
networking reception party at the British Consul-General’s residence in Los Angeles to which all mission delegates will be
invited.
TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION
Delegates are entirely responsible for organising their own travel and accommodation.
We are aiming to secure a group hotel in Los Angeles with a possible discounted booking rate. We are hoping to secure a
rate of around $200 + tax (14%). The hotel we are speaking to is very central, adjacent to The Hollywood & Highland
shopping centre and famous Hollywood landmarks and is a 5 minute drive from the conference venue. Although it is not
obligatory, we would strongly advise that delegates take advantage of this hotel for its location and networking opportunities
with other delegates.
Do you plan on staying in the group hotel: Yes  No 
UKTI also have a travel deal giving 20% off BA long haul flights, subject to terms and conditions. Please speak to your local
UKTI ITA for more details.
VERY IMPORTANT: There will be a very strict deadline imposed on the availability of the special hotel rate and this will be
confirmed later. After this date elapses the hotel will not hold rooms at all for trade mission delegates, so delegates run the
risk of unavailability if they don’t sign up in time. Once delegates are registered to the mission, we will send you details of how
to make your reservation.
The organisers would kindly ask that you arrive in LA no later than the evening of Sunday 1 June. All delegates are expected
to make their best efforts to attend the entire organised programme.
Although the BPI, MPA and UKTI do contribute financially to the organisation and running of the event in LA, we are
unfortunately not in a position to offer direct financial support to companies wishing to take part in the mission. If your
participation is dependent on additional funding, please contact your regional UKTI trade advisor who will be able to advise
whether you are eligible for any schemes relating to this mission: www.uktradeinvest.gov.uk or the UKTI on 0207 215 8000.
Please see note below “UK Trade & Investment Requirements”.
Delegate Requirements:
To assist you, BPI, MPA & UKTI provide a range of services including in-market events and promotional tools. In order to match
these appropriately to your needs we will, on occasion, require additional company information from you. This may include
logos, delegate photos or more detailed company profiles. Please respond to any requests in a timely fashion providing as
much supporting data as possible. This is expressly for your benefit and failing to respond to requests will mean that you are
not represented properly alongside your mission colleagues.
Applications past the deadline date cannot be accepted. If your participation in this event depends upon you receiving financial
support from a third party, you should let us know when making your application.
At the risk of stating the obvious, it is suggested that, to maximise benefit from the mission, delegate companies already have
film/TV ready ‘syncable’ recordings (i.e. recordings of suitable audio standard and ideally in a position to be cleared for usage)
or publishing rights. It is also the case that a history of previous sync credits in the UK or elsewhere can be very useful.
UK Trade & Investment Requirements:
Mission members will be expected to arrange their own itineraries over and above the core programme that has been arranged
by the Accredited Trade Organisation (ATO). Please note that the scheme is about group participation in the market and
delegates can obtain real benefits from opportunities to network with each other. We hope that you will therefore participate
within the spirit of the event and take part, wherever appropriate, in joint calls and hospitality. The organisers can provide you
with further details. Your involvement in any debriefing session at the end of the mission also provides BPI, MPA and UK Trade
& Investment with invaluable feedback.
Applicants are encouraged to take full advantage of all practical sources of help and advice in preparing for this mission. The
better-prepared participants are the better value-for-money they will gain. Any UK-based briefing meeting held before departure
by mission sponsors can help in this respect.
