A Guide to Employment Verification CCCVerify is the third-party administrator YSU uses to fulfill requests for income and employment information. CCCVerify can provide proof of employment and/or income when securing financing, leasing an apartment, providing information to government agencies, etc. In addition, Team Members will have access to and control of their own information. Non-Government Requestors (i.e. mortgage companies, landlords, etc): Requestors should be directed to www.cccverify.com, a secure web site, to complete any employment/wage verification requests. For security purposes, phone and email-based verifications are not provided. New requestors must take a few minutes to create an account, within the “Verifiers Section” of the web page, before they can purchase employment verification reports. If new requestors have previously completed the credentialing process (over 10,000 companies are in the database), they may begin using the system as soon as the account creation process is complete. If the requestor has not completed the credentialing process, they must request employee authorization OR complete the credentialing process before being able to use the system. The credentialing process takes an average of 5 minutes to complete. (Employee authorization processes are reviewed in the Team Member section below.) Your initial Security Code is the last four digits of your SSN. (This can be any number that the client chooses such as date of birth, zip code, clock number or employee number) From the main menu, you can: View requestor activity to see who has accessed your employment and income information for the past two years. View your free, annual employment verification report to confirm accuracy and dispute potentially inaccurate information. Many businesses, such as banks, credit card companies, leasing agents and prospective employers, have the need to confirm employment and/or income for YSU employees. CCCVerify is an online service YSU uses to provide this verification of employment and/or income. CCCVerify allows businesses to confirm employment and/or income to process loan applications, screen potential job applicants, and confirm government assistance eligibility. Can anyone access my information? No. For security purposes, only businesses that have received either an employee authorization or completed a process that confirms that they are a legitimate business and have a valid reason as defined by the Federal Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) may view employment and income information through CCCVerify. An employee may block access to their employment and income verification reports to non-governmental requestors at anytime. Why do we need to use it? YSU uses CCCVerify to help protect your personal information and provide a faster turnaround on employment and income information requests. Can someone be stopped from accessing this information? Yes. Any Team Member can block access to their verification reports, with the exception of requests made on behalf of the government. To place the block, go to www.cccverify.com and log-in. Select the Manage Profile option from the My Account menu selection. Check the Requestor Access box to block access to your information from all non-governmental requestors. Some of the information contained on a report is wrong. What can be done? A Team Member can file a dispute at any time through CCCVerify. CCCVerify’s customer service team will work to resolve the dispute with YSU within the legally required timeframe. During this timeframe, businesses cannot view the disputed information unless the Team Member removes the account block. For more information about filing a dispute and removing account blocks, go to www.cccverify.com and select help. Can a Team Member be notified if someone accesses their information? Yes, they can check a box in their profile to alert the system to notify them by e-mail when requestors access their information. To configure an account, the Team Member should log-in to the system, select the Manage Profile option from the My Account menu selection and check the <E-Mail Notification> box. What information can requestors see? There are two reports. 1. A verification of employment report contains the following information: Job title Job status (active, separated, on-leave, etc.) Work status (full-time, part-time, temporary, etc.) Most recent date of hire Employer’s name Employer’s address 2.
