7th Grade Master Spelling List
Please Keep this list in your binder and bring it to class everyday. We will do a list in class
almost every week. "Do a List" means this: (This schedule may be changed due to schedule and
calendar conflict. I would suggest the use of flashcards. The flashcards will help you succeed.
Monday: - Write down the words and their parts of speech on a clean full sheet of paper. Be sure
to have the appropriate heading on this paper.
Tuesday: - Bring your written spelling study sheet to class with the following completed:
1. word definition,
2. one original sentence for each word and
3. MAKE SURE that the definition you provide fits the part of speech that is being asked. Don’t
just copy and past any definition or part of the definition if it does not fit that part of
speech and defines the word as this will loose you points.
Thursday: - Be ready to take the spelling pretest. On the test you'll be asked to spell each word
correctly, identify the part of speech and write a complete and clear definition for the word. If you
score a 95% or better on this pretest you will not need to take the test on Friday. If Friday is not
available due to the calendar the Thursday test will be used to determine the 30 point Friday test.
Friday: - Main spelling test. The same information stated for the pretest will be required on this
test. This quiz will be worth 30 points.
