Telecare Caller Luncheon
The Elders of Grace would like to invite all Telecare Callers and their families to an
Appreciation Luncheon next Sunday, June 10 at 12 noon in the Family Life Center.
It’s Coming….in Two Weeks!
Pastor Rich’s new Adult Inquiry will begin on Tuesday, June 19. (This is a different night for the summer
session.) This is a very informal class teaching the basics of the Christian faith and what we as Lutherans
believe. No knowledge of the Bible is needed nor do you need to bring one. The class is from 6:30-8:30pm
and is open to everyone. Childcare is available. Please contact the church office to let us know.
Pastor Rich, Susie and Stephanie are in Chicago this weekend as Pastor conducts the wedding
of his nephew Philip Micha. Pastor will be back in the office on Wednesday.
Summer Science Wednesdays starts this Wednesday, June 6
It is designed for children in 2nd – 6th grade. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall from 6:30 – 7:30. It is designed
to teach children about the truth in God’s word using science experiments and skits. If you are interested in
volunteering for this, or would like to bring a visitor, contact Frieda Guthrie at childrensmin@visitgrace.org.
Notes from Children’s Ministries…..
Leader needed for Children’s Church on the following dates: July 8 and August 5. Everything
is planned and prepared. All you have to do is teach the lesson. (Aides are assigned to assist.)
Sunday School is in need of storytellers, game leaders, craft leaders, and group guides for the summer
for our new curriculum. If you are interested in serving any time during the summer, more information
and sign-up sheets are available at the information booth in the narthex.
Have you checked out our new Facebook page? Just look for Grace Lutheran Kids. There you
will find pictures of recent activities as well as announcements for future events.
The congregation is invited to attend the worship service for the LWML Convention this Friday, June 8. The
Service with Holy Communion will be held at the Knoxville Downtown Marriott Hotel beginning at 7:30 pm.

Women’s Friday Morning Bible Study – Summer Study
During the months of June, July and August, the Friday morning women's Bible study will cover a different hero of the faith
each week, so that attendance on a weekly basis is not required to follow the study. This will accommodate vacation and
other summer activites. The series highlights ordinary men and women in the Bible who overcame extraordinary
difficulties to do God's work. Each week's study concludes with a look into our own lives today. Among the "heroes" are
Gideon, Samson, Archangel Gabriel, Melchizedek, and more. The study meets from 9:00-10:30 on Fridays in the
Fellowship Hall. Cost of the study guide is $2.50. Childcare is provided for those needing it. Please contact Mary Schultz
to order materials and set-up childcare (schultzmaryann@yahoo.com or 947-0334.
Do You Know What A GEO Missionary Is?
GEO stands for Globally Engaged in Outreach and GEOs are missionaries who serve 1-2 years with LCMS International
Missions. On Sunday, June 24th Katie Lane, a GEO who recently completed her service in Central and South America,
will be here at Grace to share her experiences and perhaps inspire some of us to consider serving. Katie will speak in the
Family Life Center following the 11AM service and lunch will be provided.
What an honor it is to be called to serve such a wonderful place as Grace! In preparation of this service, I will be
ordained, the service in which I am confirmed to be a Pastor, at my home church, Lutheran Church of the
Redeemer (1800 W. Maple Ave., Birmingham, MI 48009) on June 24th at 3 pm. A reception will follow the service
at the church. It would be an honor to have you join us in the joyous celebration. Questions can be directed to
Rev. Cary Richert at 248-644-4010 or crichert@redeemerbirmingham.org. Pastor Mark Bushuiakovish
