You will have the option of choosing different tasks within the menu to guide your learning. This assignment will require that students have a total of 100 points. Each student will be responsible for keeping a neat, organized notebook. Section Options: Choose one activity for Possible Points Section each of the three sections 8.2/8.4/10.3! Points Earned (8.2/8.4/ (30 pts) You can only use each task once! For 10.3) example, if you choose the interactive notebook 30 for section 8.2, you can’t do the same for section 8.4. Critical Thinking Sec. Assessment Question: Students can answer the critical thinking 10 section assessment question for a section. Chapter 8.2-Sequencing #4 Chapter 8.4-Comparing and Contrasting #4 Chapter 10.3-Comparing and Contrasting #4 Interactive Notebook or Timeline: Choose 5-7 concepts from your notes and to the left of the margin or on a timeline in your notebook draw a 10 picture or symbol that represents the key terms, people, and/or events that you chose. Double Journal: complete a “Double Journal” citing two pieces of text that supports the Big 10 Idea with an explanation of the text in your own words in the second column on the T-chart. Chapter Project Options: (50 pts) Choose only one Possible Chapter Project to complete. Points Acrostic Poem: Westward Expansion Create an acrostic poem with the above words to tell the story of the beginnings of westward expansion. Remember 50 to use sentences or phrases for each line. Must include a minimum of three illustrations with color. The poem must be creative, neatly executed, and inviting. Refer to the project rubric. Points Earned Ballad: Write a ballad telling the story about the Beginnings of Westward Expansion. It must include aspects of all sections that were covered for this chapter (Please refer to Chapter Guide…8.2/ 8.4/10.3). It must rhyme and have at least 20 lines with relevant information. It must also include 10 key terms or people. Must include one illustration. The Ballad must be creative, neatly executed, and inviting. It must include color! 50 Scrapbook: Create a five page scrapbook which explains the story about the Beginnings of Westward Expansion. It must include aspects of all sections that were covered 50 for this chapter (8.2/ 8.4/10.3). Each page in the scrapbook must include an illustration/visual representation with color and have an accompanying caption that is a minimum of four sentences. The scrapbook must be creative, neatly executed, and inviting. Comic Strip: Create a comic strip, summarizing at least 4 themes found within the reading. Make sure your comic book is in chronological order. The comic strip must be creative, neatly executed, and inviting. It must include color! Refer to the project rubric. 50 Vocabulary Options: (20 pts) Choose one Possible Points vocabulary activity and include the key terms Points Earned and people for all three sections. Flash Cards: Flash cards can be created using the key terms and people within the chapter. One side should only have the key term and on the other the 20 textbook definition, a paraphrased definition and a visual representation of the key term. Crossword Puzzle: Create a crossword puzzle using 20 the vocabulary words from the chapter guide. Make sure to make an answer key as well.
