ADELPHI UNIVERSITY – AOP Program (Adelphi Opportunity Program)
Similar to HEOP – they accept around 20 students per year. Interview required.

ALFRED UNIVERSITY – HEOP
Undergraduate New York State residents enrolling in the state-supported programs as an HEOP transfer
student. Students must meet New York State mandated economic guidelines and educational eligibility
criteria for admission to HEOP. An average grant is $2,000 per year, limited to a total of ten semesters of
payment. How Determined: Educational and economic criteria must be met as determined by the HEOP
Office, the Admissions Office, and the Student Financial Aid Office according to New York State HEOP

BARD COLLEGE – Bard Educational Opportunity Program (BEOP)

BARNARD COLLEGE – CSTEP Program
A program for high school students interested in math and science fields. Designed for minority or low
income students who excel in math and/or science. Tutoring/counseling etc… Year round enrollment.

BORICUA COLLEGE – SUG Program

CANISIUS COLLEGE – COPE Program
Their version of HEOP. All incoming HEOP pre-freshmen take part in an intensive six-week summer program
which orients students to college life at Canisius and helps prepare them for future academic work and etc.

CAZENOVIA COLLEGE – HEOP Cazenovia College participates in the New York State Higher Education
Opportunity Program (HEOP). This program is designed to assist students who are economically
disadvantaged and have experienced academic difficulties in their pursuit of a college education.
Approximately 15 students who have demonstrated the potential for college success are chosen each year

CLARKSON UNIVERSITY – Pipeline Program
Their version of HEOP Clarkson HEOP students have access to a significant student-centered support system,
including the Summer PRE-freshman Experience (SPREE), and academic-year guidance and support. ContactMichael Manor 315-268-7974
COLGATE UNIVERSITY – Higher Education Program
Open to students nationwide – about 60 -70 enrolled per year. Focuses on math and science majors and
careers. Tutoring and counseling and other support provided.

COLLEGE OF MT. ST. VINCENT – Bridge Program
One year support program to help students transition to college.Tutoring/counseling provided. Contact –

THE COLLEGE OF NEW ROCHELLE – Community Leadership Program
This program is open to 20 students per year. It includes a 5-week summer component and academic

Open to 25 students per year. Similar to HEOP – placement testing and interview required. Contact – John

COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY: Columbia College & School of Engineering & Applied Science- HEOP/NOP
Their own version of HEOP- Opportunity Programs participants receive the following services: Full financial
aid covering tuition, room, and board; Academic, personal, career, and financial advisement; Peer mentoring
programs; Individualized and/or group tutorial services; and Semester book allowance.

DOWLING COLLEGE – HEOP Through its five-week intensive Summer Preparatory Program, the H.E.O.P.
prepares inquisitive minds to face the rigors of collegiate life by offering developmental work in math,
writing, reading comprehension, study skills and computer technology.

D’YOUVILLE COLLEGE – HEOP Summer orientation, a five-week program, is required for all entering HEOP
students. It is designed to assist students in developing essential college-level skills in math, reading, writing,
and to orient the students to college life. Supportive services are provided during the academic year. The
program provides developmental courses to strengthen your reading, writing, vocabulary, and study skills.

HAMILTON COLLEGE – HEOP/ Horizon Program
Horizon is for adults and employees of Hamilton College. HEOP participants must complete a five-week
summer program conducted at the college. Participation in the Opportunity Programs provides students
with structured academic support, advocacy, and facilitates social transitioning. The Opportunity Program
also provides academic support through the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE). Opportunity Program
