 Model UN Spell-Model UN elections will take place next Friday, May 1st in
Mrs. Spell’s room at 2:30. Details are in the email. See you there.
 HOSA-Dr. Madu-Attention All HOSA members, elections for next year’s
officers will be held Thursday, April 30th from 2:30-3:00 in Dr. Madu’s
room. Please plan to be there. Room 134
 Guidance-Mrs. Brown-Malone-Students, if you plan on taking Dual
Enrollment this summer, the deadline to submit your paperwork to Mrs.
Brown is May 1st. Also it is important that you download and read the steps
carefully to make sure you qualify to take a college level course. If you need
any assistance, see Mrs. Brown, the counselor before or after school.
 Guidance-Mrs. Brown Malone-Students the Annual Freshman, Sophomore
and Junior Honor program is this Monday, at 6:00 pm. Students don’t forget
to invite your parents.
 Counseling Department-Mrs. Heaston-Shelby County Mayor’s Charitable
Foundation Scholarship-Five scholarships, each valued at $2,000 will be
awarded to graduating seniors of Shelby County Government employees.
Each person must meet minimum requirements of GPA of 3.25, outstanding
leadership and community service, and child of Shelby County Government
employee. Applications are available in the scholarship book in the
Guidance Complex. Deadline is May 4, 2015.
 Counseling Dept-Mrs. Heaston-Four $5000 freshman-year scholarships
will be funded and awarded to successful applicants who plan to enroll in a
four-year public college or university within the State of Tennessee’s Board
of Regents or University of TN systems. Eligibility guidelines, application
materials and selection criteria are available for down loading and printing
through our Society’s website at www.jastn.org. Applications must be
postmarked no later than May 31, 2015.
 Project Graduation- May 24th Ridgeway Baptist Church-Tickets price:
$25. Tickets will be sold during all lunches in Cafeteria from April 27 –
May1.
 Poplar-White Station Library- Andrea King, Teen Services
Representative-The Poplar-White Station library is looking for volunteers
this summer during Explore Memphis! I will be having a volunteer
orientation next Wednesday, April 29th at 3:30 for anyone who wants to
help. This training is necessary if you want to volunteer just a few hours a
week or if you want to volunteer all summer (Schedules are flexible!) Come
by the school library if you are interested in more information!

 E-Board-Mrs. Browne-This is just a reminder: do not forget to turn in
blood drive permission slips! E-Board will be at the stage accepting them
during all lunches.
 Delta Fine Arts-Dr. Elion-Congratulations are in order for Mr. Darrel
Denton. He participated in the Poetic Prose and Theater Production on
Sunday. He won a summer internship with the Hattiloo Theatre.
 Yearbook Staff-Mrs. Johnson-All incoming yearbook staff members must
complete staff commitment forms by Friday and turn into Mrs. Johnson’s
mailbox.
 Dual Enrollment Biology-Dr. Madu-Students interested in taking the dual
enrollment Biology course through U of M should indicate it on their course
selection form, and pick up the registration form from their Chemistry or Dr.
Madu’s classroom, Room M134.
 Counseling Dept-Mrs. Heaston-Seniors, your Scholarship Report and
College Acceptance Report are due to Mrs. Heaston April 30th. Your
awarded scholarship will not be listed in the graduation program if your
scholarship report and proof of awarded scholarship is not turned in by the

 Art Dept-Mr. Berlin-Do you want to see some of the Best Art Work in the
entire county? Ya’ll come to White Station Art Night this Thursday Night
from 6:00-8:00 in the School Library! See the most amazing talent from
your school’s best artists!
 Counseling Dept-Mrs. Heaston-The Memphis Chapter of the Association
for the improvement of Minorities at the Internal Revenue Service (AIMIRS) plans to award two scholarships, a $1000 scholarship and a $500
scholarship, to two graduation high school seniors for the 2014-15 school
year. To be eligible for consideration, the student must:
1. Have an overall (State of TN “unweighted”) GPA of 2.75 or higher
2. Plan to pursue higher education at two or four year school
3. Be a student who is involved in community service
Applications and other requirements are available in the guidance
complex. Deadline is May 8, 2015.
 Counseling Dept-Mrs. Heaston-Balanced Man Scholarship-UT
Knox-The Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity is seeking young men to apply
for their scholarship for graduating male seniors enrolling at the Univ of
TN Knoxville in the fall of 2015. There is no obligation to join Sigma Phi
Epsilon or any other fraternity at TN. Complete the application online at
www.tnalpha.com. Applications are due Friday, June 5th.
Announcements 4/17/15
 Guidance-Mrs. Brown-Malone-If you are interested in an internship in a
health related field, St. Francis Hospital is sponsoring Health Explore Post.
This is a wonderful opportunity for students who want hands on experiences
I the health care field. In order to sign up, students must report to St. Francis
Hospital this Saturday morning, April 18th at 10:00 am in the conference
room. For more info pick up a flyer in the main office or counselors’ office.
 Seniors Only-You may wear your college t-shirts on Friday, April 24, 2015.
These shirts must be worn with a uniform bottom. Let’s see where our
seniors are headed next year. No jeans allowed.
 Guidance-Mrs. Brown-Malone-UT Health Science is now taking
applications for UT SCORE. UT Score is a week-long summer event for
rising high school sophomores and juniors. This program is designed to
educate students about college and introduce them to the skills it takes to be
successful in earning a degree. Go to the guidance link at www.whitestation
.net for eligibility, or pick up an application in the counselor’s office.
 Science Olympiad-Mrs. Davis-Conrats to the 2015 Spartan Science
Olympiad team who placed 2nd out of 136 teams at the state tournament last
weekend. Way to go Spartans!
 Math Team-Mrs. Cui-Congrats to the Math team who placed 1st and 2nd at
the Vanderbilt University Math Competition for TN High Schools last
weekend. Ohm Patel, Jennifer Xiao, and Ben Armstrong placed 1st, 2nd and
3rd place for individuals.
 Announcement Staff-Mr. Henry-Announcement staff try-outs will take
place Tuesday, April 21st through Thursday April 23rd in Mr. Fernandez’s
room, M117. A sign-p sheet has been placed outside his door. See Mr.
Henry for more details.

 Ms Shirley/Mr. Flippo –To all travelers on the Summer 2015 trip to France
and Spain: Please stop by Mrs. Shirley’s classroom to receive some
important information immediately after school.
 Counseling Dept-Mrs. Heaston- Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity is seeing
candidates for their 2015 Annual Beautillion-presenting talented young men
to society. The Beautillion is being provided with an orientation toward
helping young men currently enrolled as high school juniors to grow and
develop their leadership talents in every phase of human endeavor.
Interested young men should see Mrs. Heaston for an application. Deadline
is May 1, 2015.

 Mrs. Holland-Important WSHS Dates- Please read all information as
there is likely something here that applies to your student!
o Seniors-Scholarship Report and College Acceptance Report forms are
due to Mrs. Heaston April 30th…Scholarship will not be listed in the
program if they are not returned by that date!
o Students currently in AP Courses-AP permission slips are past due.
AP tests begin at 7:30 and 11:30 May 4 through May 15. Parents
please help us ensure students are on time.
o We have emailed students regarding AP applications for the 20152016 school year. We are currently processing appeals and all
students should be notified today about pending appealed courses.
o Cheerleading-Cheer parent meeting Tuesday April 14th in the library.
Tryouts are scheduled for April 21-23.
o Dual Enrollment-Registration window is April 13-May 1. Any
questions contact Mrs. Brown-Malone.
o EOC Test Dates: Proctors needed! Between 7:45/8:00 until 11 amplease email smithcc@scsk12.org to volunteer on any of the following

o Pre-Registration Forms – If you did not return your pre-registration
for next school year and need another copy, please have your student
request another form in his or her grade level office. This form should
have come home for you to make changes and return so that your preregistration process goes more smoothly.
o Summer ACT/PSAT Workshop-The summer workshops will be

o Tuesday, May 19th - Senior Luncheon – Botanic Gardens 11:30 am –

o Students are responsible for their own transportation. Students are not to be
on campus the day of the luncheon, they should report straight to Botanic
Garden at the time of the luncheon. Students should dress up as if they are
attending an awards luncheon. Dress for young men might include dress
slacks/dress shirt and for young ladies would include dress pants or skirt
with a dress top or dress. No shorts. No jeans. No exceptions.
o Thursday, May 21st - Seniors are notified by this date of academic
deficiencies which will prohibit their participation in graduation ceremony.
All monies owed to the school must be paid by TODAY to avoid having the
diploma withheld.
o Friday, May 22nd Rehearsal begins promptly at 10:30 am at the Cook
Convention Center. There will be only one rehearsal for graduation. Any
senior not at the rehearsal will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.
Students should park underneath the Convention Center and guests are not
allowed.
o Sunday, May 24th - GRADUATION DAY
2:10 p.m. Check in with homeroom teacher in the assembly area. Students
should be in their assigned seats in the backstage area by 2:25 at the very,
very latest!
o 3:00 p.m. - Processional begins
o After ceremony (Recessional) – Graduates will exit the floor area and pick up
their diploma
 Mrs. Campbell-TMTA – Mrs. Campbell has parking passes form TMTA
participants. Room M232
 Mrs. Whittington-Make-A-Wish-Attention members: is you are interested
in volunteering or bringing materials to the car wash this Saturday, come to
a brief meeting after school this Tuesday in Mrs. Whittington’s room. If you
want to be an officer net year, also come to this meeting. Thanks!
 Mrs. Browne-Student Council-There will be a fundraiser this Friday from
7:30-9pm. You pay $10 cash and get to eat all you can eat. 60% of the
proceeds to WSHS. We hope to see you there!
 Mrs. Gossett-Aspire-Rhodes College Internship – It is a summer
mentor/internship program that focuses on professional development,
college admissions, and interfaith cooperation for rising high school juniors
and seniors in Memphis, The program consists of two weeks of workshops
that involve learning about careers, professionalism, business etiquette,
building resumes, interview tips, the college admissions process, and
interfaith cooperation. After this, students receive an internship for three
weeks based on their areas of interests Also, during the program, students
will design and implement a service project. This year the program will take
place from June 1 to July 3. Students are selected based on an application
and interview process. The deadline to apply for this year is May 1. The link

 Mrs. Browne-Seniors!-Remember those senior shirts we voted on in
September? The wait is finally over. Senior shirts can be pre-ordered in all
lunches in the cafeteria. If you don’t remember the design, there will be a
copy in the cafeteria as well. Thanks!
 Make-A-Wish-Mrs. Whittington-Make-A-Wish will be having a car wash
April 18th. Please come out and support the club to help us finish off the year
so we can grant a wish! Thanks!
 Class Ring Order Day-The Jostens representative will return to take
additional orders and deposits for Class Rings on:

 Mrs. Wilson-Seniors-If you have pictures for the 2015 Through the Years
Senior slideshow that will be featured during the senior luncheon…please
email them to WSHSclass2015@gmail.com . We are asking for any
pictures that show the 2015 seniors throughout their school years. Pictures
can include selfies, baby pictures, group outings, or any other pictures that
include 2015 seniors. Please make sure that the pictures are appropriate for
school. Pictures must be submitted by April 30, 2015.
 Guidance-Mrs. Fleming-Second Presbyterian Church April 17th from 6:308:30 pm. Invites seniors attending Univ of Tennessee, Auburn University,
Mississsippi State Univ, and Vanderbilt Univ to a social gathering in the
fellowship hall to meet the leaders of Reformed University Fellowship
Ministries and other seniors and their families attending these four school in
the fall of 2015.
 Guidance-Mrs. Brown-Malone- Students, the Dual Enrollment meeting has
been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 15th at 2:20 pm in the Library. Dual
Enrollment Interest is Tuesday right after school in the Library.
 E-Board-Mrs. Browne-E Board applications are due April 15th. To attend
Nominating Convention you must turn in point form for both semesters.

Announcements 3/31/15
 Mrs. Browne-Student Council-Student Council meeting April 2nd after
school in the cafeteria. If you’re interested in running for E-Board, make
sure you attend the meeting.
 Mr. Boone and Mr. Henry-Tonight is opening night for FAME. Show
starts at 7pm, Tickets $5 for Students and $10 for adults, teachers with IDFree.
 Summer Programs – Brown-Malone-Christian Brothers has three summer
camps that range from business to literature. To find out more, visit White
Station’s Website under the guidance tab, click the summer programs link.
Students grades 9-11, a Mini College Camp will be held at University of Memphis
on April 25th. This will give you a glimpse into real college life. There is no cost.
Check in will be 8:45 am. A continental breakfast will be served. Go to WSHS
website under guidance and summer programs to register on-line.
 The city of Memphis Summer Youth Employment office is accepting
applications until April 4th. Students must be ages 14-21 and attend one of
the Youth Empowerment Symposiums. Complete the application online @
cityofmemphisyouth.org or go to guidance on WSHS’s website
 Rising Seniors and Juniors-UTK has a week- long all expense paid summer
engineering camp. Application deadline is April 10th. Applications are on
WSHS’s website under the guidance tab, click summer programs. Students
must have a 25 on the ACT.
 The deadline to receive the application for the Summer Law Intern Program
has been extended to Friday, April 3rd. This is an awesome opportunity for
students interested in law. Download your application on White Station’s
guidance/summer program link ASAP, or see your guidance counselor.

 Mr. Berlin - Congratulations to the following Spartan Artists for winning
nationally in Scholastic Art Awards!
Aylen Mercado – won a Gold Medal for her full portfolio, 1 of only 8 in the
country!
Richard Murray- won a Silver Medal for his pencil work.
Jennifer Xiao – won a Silver Medal for her oil painting.
Thanks to these students for making White Station the Biggest National
Award winner in the Region!
 Mrs. Whittington-Make-A-Wish – will be having a car wash April 18th.

 Theatre Mr. Henry – FAME! This week WS Theatre presents FAME
Monday March 30 through Thursday, April 2nd. Come “learn to fly” with us
for only $10 adult tickets and a special $5 student price! See you there!
 Orchestra Auditions-Dr. Palmer-Students who are interested in
auditioning for the Advanced Orchestra in 2015 should see Dr. Palmer in the
band room for an application and audition music. Auditions start April 13 th!

 Counseling Department-Mrs. Heaston-University of Memphis Mini
Camp-Please invite students grades 9-11 to register for Mini Camp College
that will be held at the University of Memphis on April 25th. There is no fee
for the program, but there are parking fees. The Mini Camp College will
include sessions titled “Admissions A-Z” to “Financial Aid 101.” Check- in
will be in the Psychology Building at 8:45am. A continental breakfast will
be served. The program ends around 12:15pm and U of M will offer campus
tours. Students must register online at:

 National Honor Society-New applicants to National Honor Society, only

Are you good with deadlines? Come check out what the school newspaper is

 Library Hours-The library opens at 6:30 and stays open until 3:15 after
school daily except for Wednesdays. AP applicants are welcome to come by
to complete applications before Friday at 3pm.
 2015 Prom-Mrs. Wilson-Prom is April 25th @ Minglewood Hall. Prom
tickets will be sold to Seniors Only on April 1-3 in the cafeteria during all
lunches. We will then sell to Juniors on April 6th & 7th in the cafeteria during
all lunches. Tickets are $45 per person. Cash only. Once tickets are sold out
we will not be able to sell anymore. You must have a prom guideline sheet
signed and with you before you can purchase a ticket. If you are bringing a
guest, they must have a guideline sheet on fill as well. Prom guideline sheets
can be picked up in the senior office.

Tuesday, March 24th @ 6 pm in Ms Satar’s rom, F129, we will host a
meeting for you to sign up to travel. Hope you can make it!
 Mr. Sims-AP Music Theory Entrance Exam-All students interested in
taking AP Music Theory next year need to take the Entrance Exam this
Thursday, March 12th, at 2:30 in the cafeteria. See Mr. Sims for more
information.
 Mrs. Fleming-Guidance-We are excited to announce the colleges coming
to campus this week: Austin Peay State University and Mississippi State
University. After Spring Break: University of Alabama and University of
South Carolina. All juniors are welcome and encouraged to attend the visits.
Please sign up in the guidance complex and get a permission slip from your
English teacher or guidance counselor.

 Applicants for 2015-2016 AP English Courses-are required to complete
writing samples
Rising juniors applying for AP English Language will meet Mrs. Alsobrook
in the cafeteria immediately after school, Wednesday, March 11.
Rising Seniors applying for AP Literature will meet Ms Douglas in the
cafeteria immediately after school, Thursday, March 12.
Arrive promptly, bring black pens, and plan to stay one hour.
Students having conflicts (and they better be good!) must see the respective
teachers after school prior to these dates.
 Girls Soccer-McDonald/Knowles-There will be no Girl’s Soccer
conditioning today. This is from Coach Knowles.
 Tennis-Mr. Waller-All paperwork is due Tuesday , March 10th due to the
inclement weather. If your file is incomplete you will not be allowed to play.
Also, ALL tennis fees are due this Friday!

 Tennis-Mr. Waller-All paperwork and tennis insurance fees are due by
Friday! If you have questions please ask Mr. Waller.
 Theatre-Mr. Boone-Auditions for the final play of the year, “Doubt”, will
be Monday from 2:20-3:45 in Mr. Boone’s theatre room. Students in Fame
please go back and set up.
 EF Tour Trip 2016-Frau Warren and Ms Satar-Attention Ms Satar’s, Ms
Barczak’s and Frau Warren’s students. We are hosting a meeting regarding
the trip to Germany, France and Spain on 3/24/15 at 6:00 pm in room F129.
Hope to see you there and anyone interested is welcome.
 France/Spain Summer 2015-Ms Shirley and Mr. Flippo-There will be a
mandatory meeting for all participants in the Summer 2015 trip to France
and Spain. The meeting will take place on Monday, March 6th at 6 pm in
Mrs. Shirley’s classroom, E103.
 College Visits-Mrs. Fleming-We are excited to announce the colleges
coming to campus in March: School of the Art Institution in Chicago,
Arkansas Baptist College, Austin Peay State University, University of
Alabama and University of South Carolina. All juniors are welcome and
encouraged to attend the visits. Please sign up in the guidance complex and
get a permission slip from your English teacher or guidance counselor. The
University of Tennessee Knoxville will be here tomorrow for seniors only
who have already made application for the fall of 2015.
 Mrs. Gossett-5 days in Panama City + 5 days in the RainforestApplication online from Feb. 17-March 22. Rolling admission notifications
begin March 1st. Rising 10th through graduating 12 high school students.
Valid passport is required through Jan. 16, 2016. 18 select students will
study our changing environment in the context of urban and economic

 Mrs. Wilson-Senior Trip-If you paid the $40 deposit to attend the senior
trip this is a reminder that the remaining balance of $100 is due by March
31st. You can pay the balance in the senior office at any time before 1:00 pm.
The balance must be paid by March 31st
 Student Council-is sponsoring the “Love White Station” Art Contest.
Anyone is allowed to submit an entry, showing what they love about White
Station. The entries must be on a piece of paper no larger than 12x18 inches
and all media is accepted. The entries are to be turned in by March 13th
(Next Friday) to Ms Browne’s room (M222A). Three finalists will be
selected to enlarge their work to be displayed in the main lobby and the first
place winner gets $100. If you have any questions talk to any of the art
teachers.
 Debate Club-Mr. Rakestraw-Congratulations to the White Station debate
team. Over the weekend Freshmen Porter Clement and Becca Folkes-Lallo
won the City Championship for Junior Varsity Debaters. Varsity teams of
Jada Thomas & Rachel Griffin finished 3rd among all teams and John
McKissack and Dominique Malone finished 6th among all teams. All of our
speakers were recognized as individual speakers. Congratulations on another
great season.
 FCCLA Mrs. Cooper – FCCLA members please meet after school on
Monday for thirty minutes-2:15-2:45-All members in competition.
 Counseling Department-Mrs. Heaston-The Memphis Alumnae Chapter of
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in partnership with the Mutli-Agency Gang
Unit will host its Spring EMBODI Conference on Saturday, March 28 at
Southwind High School from 9:00 am-2:00 pm (8:15 registration and
breakfast). The conference is designed to Empower Males to Build
Opportunities for Developing Independence and will offer exciting
workshops, interactive sessions, and opportunities for the young men to
network with some of the most influential men in the Memphis metropolitan
area. The program will focus on youth in grades 7 through 12

 Scibbler Coffeehouse-Mr. Robbins-Ladies and Gentleman, come on down
to the Scribbler Coffee Carnival, Friday March 6th at 7pm. The entrance fee
is $4, but make sure you bring money for Carnival games and yummy food.
 Mrs. Wilson/Seniors-If you have not paid your Senior dues yet the next
payment date is March 10, 2015. Please bring in the payment on this date to
the Senior Office before 1:00pm.

 Tennis-Mr. Waller-Tennis tryouts will be held Thursday@3:00 pm at
Ridgeway Tennis Center. Please dress appropriately and be on time.

 Bridge Builders – Students the deadline to turn in applications is this
Friday, February 13th. A Bridge Builder representative will be here
Thursday, in the cafeteria, if students have questions or want to turn in

 Mrs. Heaston-Counseling Department – The Ned McWherter Scholars
Program is intended to encourage academically superior Tennessee high
school seniors to attend college in TN. Only 50 scholarships are awarded
each year. Award amounts are up to $6,000 per academic year (i.e. $3,000
from TSAC and up to $3,000 from the college) To apply, a student must
have a minimum 29 ACT Composite/1280 SAT (Math + Critical Reading
ONLY) and a minimum 3.5 GPA. The deadline for students to apply online
via TSAC Student Portal for the New McWherter Scholars Program is
Sunday, February 15. In addition to the online application, a 7th semester
transcript must be submitted to TSAC by the school counselor. The student’s
transcript may be emailed to Kathy Stripling, kathy.stripling@tn.gov.

 Guidance-The Barnes & Noble My Favorite Teacher Contest! Is a great
way to gain additional writing experience, increase exposure for writing and
receive outside recognition, and win prized for the school and your favorite
teacher! The five regional winners will each receive a $500 Barnes & Noble
Gift Card. The winner of the “Barnes & Noble Teacher of the Year” award
will receive $5,000 and will be recognized at a special event at a Barnes &
Noble store. The winning teacher’s school will receive $5,000 as well. The
deadline is March 1, 2015! Entries can be returned to: Wolfchase Barnes &

 Mrs. Brown, Counselor – The American Association of Blacks in Energy
is offering scholarships from up to $8,000 annually for the top candidate
who is judged to demonstrate the most outstanding achievement and promise
and plan to major in business, physical sciences, technology, engineering or
mathematics fields. Completed application must be postmarked no later than
March 27, 2015. For more information contact your counselor or visit
www.aabe.org to download application. The Community Foundation is
proud to offer nearly $115,000 in 30 categories each year in scholarship
funds to students from the Memphis area. For a list of available scholarships

 Mrs. Heaston-Seniors, please remember that your 2015-2016 Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed online at
WWW.FAFSA.ed.gov by February 15 in order to remain TN Promise
eligible. Please reference page 8 and 19-20 of your student handbook for
additional FAFSA tips and details! February 15 is also the college
application priority deadline. Take a few minutes to complete the admissions
application to your college of choice if you have not already!
Also, turn in your FAFSA confirmation letter to your alphabet
counselor as soon as you complete your FAFSA. That information is
needed ASAP!!
 FCCLA – FCLA needs your help. Please donate jars of baby food, small
spoons, infant juice, baby lotion, baby wipes and baby powder. Boxes will
be located in the main lobby, freshman building and cafeteria.

 Seniors-If you plan on attending the Senior Trip on May 15th to Six Flags,
St. Louis…you MUST pay the non-refundable deposit of $40 on February
6th. This is the only day that we will take the deposit so that we can get a
head count and determine if we have enough students participating. If we do
not have enough students pay the deposit on Feb. 6th…then the $40 will be
refunded and the trip will be canceled. If the trip happens as scheduled then
the $40 cannot be refunded at a later date.
We will take the deposit of $40 in the senior office from 7:00 am to 12:30
pm on February 6th. All deposits must be paid before 12:30 that day.
Permission slips must accompany the deposit. The remaining $100
balance is due by March 31st. CASH ONLY!
 Mrs. Heaston – Shelby County Schools is pleased to announce its 2015
Summer Career Internship Program. This year’s internship placements are
for a period of four weeks, from June 1, 2015 through June 26, 2015. In
order to participate in this program, you must be a rising junior, rising
senior, or 2015 graduate and are willing to intern in a local business.
Applications are available on Shelby County Schools Homepage, lower right
hand corner under “Extras”. Please complete and return the complete
application and the 2 teacher recommendations to Mrs. Heaston in the
Guidance Complex no later than February 13, 2015. Applications or
recommendations will not be accepted after this date!! Please make sure

 Mrs. Cui – Congratulations! White Station Math Team! From the score
report received last night for the Fourth National League High School
Mathematics competition, White Station HS has placed 1st in Tennessee and
16th place in the nation with the top cumulative high score! The team
members with the highest scores are Jennifer Xiao (with a perfect score),
Ohm Patel, Andrew Wu, Sharon Thomas and Nilai Vemula. White Station,
we are so proud of you! What is next? There will be the most prestigious
American Mathematics Competition for High Schools, that is AMC 10 and
AMD 12! They will take place in February. White Station will be
participating. AMC 10A and AMC12A will be held Feb 3rd Tuesday at 8:00

 Mrs. Heaston-TN Promise Students: Your 2015-2016 Your 2015-2016
Free Application must be completed online at WWW.fafsa.ed.gov by
Februrary 15 in order to remain TN Promise eligible. Please reference last
week’s Monday email for more information regarding the financial aid
application. February 15 is also the TN Achieves college application priority
date! If you have not applied to college, please take a moment to complete
an application to the TN Promise eligible institution of your choice. This
institution should also be listed as your first college choice on your FAFSA!
 Mrs. Wilson – Seniors: The Senior Class Trip permission slips can be
picked up in the Senior office along with the cap and gown order form. The
Senior Class Trip permission sheet must be completed and signed by a
parent and returned with your $40 deposit. We will not take payment
without the permission slip. Also senior fees of $100 are due February 24th
during all lunches. You must pick up a cap/gown order which should be
included with your payment of $100. A letter about senior fees was sent
home with report cards.
 Coach Myers-Track-The time trials for the outdoor track season will be
3:30 today at Halle Stadium. The make-up will be Saturday at 1:00 PM
 Model UN-Mrs. Spell-Due to low turnout yesterday, Mr. Moore needs to
meet Wed. afterschool with freshmen and new delegates who did not make it
on Tues in Mrs. Spell’s room.
 Guidance-Mrs. Fleming-Baptist College of Health Sciences will be on
campus Wednesday, January 28 during 6th period to meet with Juniors and
Seniors about opportunities that they provide for students who are wanting
to pursue a career in the medical field. They have an outstanding Bio

Seniors please remember the purpose of Senior Swag Day is to dress to
impress. The theme for this Senior Swag Day is Business attire. You should
dress like you are about to impress Corporate America and land that six
figure job you always wanted. All attire must be appropriate for school.
There should be no short skirts or dresses, no short shorts, no crop tops, no
bagging pants, and no extremely tight attire. Seniors let’s show our fellow
Spartans…that the class of 2015 is ready to DRESS TO IMPRESS!! Any
senior who is dressed inappropriately will be showcasing their swag in
ISS. So make sure you follow all the rules.

 Coach Hugueley-Last Friday White Station’s first ever coed bowling team
became District I Champions by defeating the Ridgeway boy’s team in the
district tournament. Every team member made a significant contribution. 9 th
grade beginner, Tommy Steele, achieved a personal best along with Bailey
Tang, who bowled 11 strikes in a row, for an incredible score of 298, just
two pins shy of a perfect game. Almost every other team member bowled at
or above their average. This team has worked hard to improve all year, and it
paid off in a truly spectacular victory.
 Coach Brooks-Anyone that is interested in playing Rugby for White Station
this spring should plan to meet in Room M131 on Thursday afternoon at
2:20. This is an informational meeting for both girls and guys who want to
play rugby this year, including all returning players and anyone new to the
game!
