Students acquire word building skills by learning prefixes, suffixes, roots, abbreviations, and symbols. Communication skills using the terminology applicable to the health science industry will be practiced. Knowledge of medical terminology enhances the student’s ability to successfully secure employment or pursue advanced education in health care. A grade of 80% must be earned to receive credit, as well as at least one Health Science class taken as a Junior or Senior. Attendance is important. Only 5 days in the fall semester and 4 days in the spring semester are allowed to be missed to receive credit. So wash your hands often, so you won’t get sick!
