1. Achromatic color scheme that is made from neutrals, and has no hues in it
2. Accented neutral Color Scheme a neutral color scheme that also uses one hue as an accent
3. Advancing color Color that appears to move closer to you (warm colors, high intensity colors)
4. Analogous Color Scheme Color scheme that uses 2 or more colors next to each other on the color wheel
5. Color scheme the way you use colors together.
6. Complementary Color Scheme Color scheme that uses 2 colors that are exactly opposite on the color wheel
7. Cool color Color that suggests a cool temperature (blue, green violet) Cool colors
8. Hue The name given to a specific color, such as red, green, etc.
9. Intensity ( Saturation) Brightness or dullness of a color. A color is its most intense when nothing has been added to it.
10. Monochromatic Color Scheme color scheme that has just one hue, which might have different values and intensities
11. Neutral Colors with no true pigment (white, black, gray) Beige is also considered to be a neutral since it can be used with almost all colors.
12. Primary hues Colors that cannot be created by combining any other colors (red, yellow, blue)
13. Receding color Color that appears to move away from you (cool colors, dark colors)
14. Secondary hues - Colors that are made by combining two of the primary colors (orange, green, violet)
15. Intermediate hues (Tertiary hues) Colors made by combining a primary and a secondary color ( example: yellow-orange)
16. Shade Color with black added so the color is darker than the pure hue.
17. Split complementary Color Scheme color scheme that uses one color and the two colors that are on either side of it’s complement.
18. Tint Color with white added so the color is lighter than the pure hue.
19. Triad Color Scheme Color scheme that uses three colors that are of equal distance from each other on the color wheel.
20. Undertone A subdued trace of a color seen through another color or modifying the other color. (Every one’s skin color has an undertone of either blue or yellow.)
21. Value The lightness or darkness of a color. The values of colors range on a gradation scale from almost white to almost black.
22. Warm color Color that suggests a warm temperature (red, yellow, orange). Warm colors tend to advance.
