Request your electronic transcript through Docufide, a safe and secure and free system for delivering your transcript to the colleges of your choice. 7. HERE ARE SOME POSSIBILITIES: ANDERSON UNIVERSITY Department Days are for students who are sure of the major they are pursuing. Visit their web site for the dates. Discovery Days are campus visit days which are designed to introduce prospective students and their parents to the variety of opportunities available at Anderson University. The Discovery Day program includes a campus tour and presentations in the areas of academics, financial aid, student life and athletics. A typical Discovery Day program begins at 8:00 a.m. and concludes at 1:00 p.m. (Saturdays begin at 9:00 a.m.) A continental breakfast and lunch are provided. Individual appointments with professors, coaches, academic advisors, financial aid officers and admissions counselors are available during weekday visits if arrangements are made in advance. You must be planning to attend an Indiana college, major in the criminal justice field, and be committed to a career in a law enforcement field. Ivy Tech Community College Scholarships: Chancellor’s Scholarship – is a renewable $3,000 scholarship for students who intends to earn an Associate Degree. Two awards are anticipated for 2010 high school graduates. A GPA of at least 3.2 is required, and you must be earning either a Core 40 or Academic Honors Diploma. Return application to the Guidance office no later than Monday, March 8. Choice Scholarship – is merit based and will be awarded to approximately fifteen 2010 high school graduates who plan to attend Ivy Tech Community College, Fort Wayne, in the 2010-2011 academic year. See the Scholarship Wall for an application. You must be in the upper half of the graduating class to qualify; the award is non-renewable and may be used for tuition only. Return application to the Guidance office by Monday, March 8. Crossroads Distinguished Scholarship – (one award) A partnership between Ivy Tech Community College and IPFW, this scholarship assists students who want to begin a college degree at Ivy Tech and complete it across the road at IPFW. This is a full-tuition scholarship for a full-time student seeking an Associate Degree in an area that articulates to IPFW. Student must maintain a 3.2 GPA the first year in order to renew the scholarship. Return application to the Guidance office no later than Monday, March 8. Pheasants Forever Scholarship is available to high school seniors who reside in Allen, DeKalb, Noble, or Steuben County. Pheasants Forever is an organization that supports wildlife habitat restoration, development, and maintenance as well as conservation. Career goals in these or related areas enhance a student’s chances of selection. All applications must be received by March 15, 2010 and are available in the Guidance office. 10. Purdue Club of Fort Wayne – Book Scholarships –The Purdue Club of Fort Wayne is offering four book scholarships of $300 to four students who will attend the West Lafayette campus this coming fall semester. They also offer $250 to two students who will attend the IPFW campus. Each applicant must have a sponsor who is a current member of the Purdue Club of Fort Wayne. Check in the Guidance office for further information. The deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 23. Salin Foundation Scholarship – This scholarship was established to assist select high school seniors in Indiana with furthering their education. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at any accredited college or vocational school in the state of Indiana. Eligibility requirements include a 3.0 GPA or higher. Selection will be made on the basis of demonstrated leadership, participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, and goals and aspirations stated in the application. Financial need will be considered. The awards will be in the amount of $1,500 and will be awarded to one senior from each participating high school. The SAMMY 2010 Award Program – recognizes outstanding scholar athletes in grade 12 from high schools throughout the United States. An athlete from Snider High School was one of the 25 winners in 2005. This year the winners will receive each of the following: A $7,500 college scholarship from the Milk Processor Education Program. STILL AVAILABLE FROM ISSUE #5 Additional Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne Scholarship: Fort Wayne Enterprise Zone – The Fort Wayne Enterprise Zone has established a scholarship program for students living in one of the designated zone areas. They will award two renewable scholarships. Applicants must have lived in one of the service areas for at least two years. We also have a street listing for specific addresses that are eligible. The applications are available in the Guidance office and must be returned to Guidance by Feb. 26. John H. Noll Scholarship -- This scholarship is offered to graduating seniors planning to attend college, university, trade or technical school. The purpose of the award is to help students who would not ordinarily receive assistance due to average grades, rather than being at the top of the class. The applicants must demonstrate financial need. This is a renewable scholarship. We can choose six (6) applicants from Snider. Pick up an application in the Guidance office, and return no later than March 19 to be considered. 11. Theta Pi Chapter of Phi Beta Psi Sorority – is offering a scholarship to any senior who is seeking a career as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Technologist, Radiology Technologist, Cytotechnology Technologist, or Nuclear Medicine Technologist. The sorority was formed to help find a cure for cancer, and this is one way they try to help. The scholarship is for $750 a year.
