COMPETITIVE EXHIBIT RULES NSA in Y2K - Mesa, Arizona 1. Only members of the NSA are eligible to enter. Only stereoviews (cards) are eligible. e. Views by an individual photographer f. Open category (For those whose subject matter does not fit one of the previous categories). 2. The entry form must be received by May 28th, 2000 3. An entry form, photocopy thereof or typed facsimile containing name, address, & phone number must be submitted for each entry. The title, category, and number of views must also be contained in the form. Entry fees must be enclosed. 4. MODERN DIVISION Any of the following may be divided into “Color” & Black & White” sub-categories if the numbers so warrant. a. People (including portraiture, fashion, figure, etc.) b. Documentary or photojournalistic (including street photography) c. Fine Art (including scenic, abstract, etc.) d. Patterns, Texture, Abstract, Experimental. e. Native American or Southwestern views f. Open Category (For those whose subject matter does not fit one of the previous categories. They must arrive well packed by June 18th, 2000. 5. Those delivering their entries at the convention must bring them to the Trade Show room, Thursday July 6, between 4:00-6:00PM. 6. The NSA will provide the method of display. There is a $6.00 per entry fee to cover display materials, awards & security. A fee must accompany each entry form. No more than 2 entries per category are allowed. 7. No more than 12 or fewer than 8 stereoviews constitutes an entry. Views are expected to be in the traditional 3 ½” x 7’ format. Height can be taller, but limited to card format that will fit into a 5” x 7” sleeve. A 5” x 7” typewritten explanation card may be substituted for one of the views. 8. The categories are contained within two divisions, 1) Modern (view less than 5 years old or photographed by the exhibitor), and 2) Vintage (non-modern) *Any category may be combined with another or the open category if the number of entries in that category is insufficient to provide a quality of competition. THE CATEGORIES ARE AS FOLLOWS VINTAGE DIVISION a. Views of or from a place or region b. Scenic or Landscape c. People (famous or not, in action, mass or portraiture). d. Historic events 9. Upon receipt of your entry, you will be sent 5” x 7” sleeves and backing sheets. Any information germane to the view that you wish to include should be typed across the top of the backing card. The NAME OF THE PHOTOGRAPHER should NOT be included on the backing cards of MODERN views.(Photographers will be identified after judging). Backing cards are then placed in the sleeve behind the view. All of the views in an individual entry should be joined together with a paper identifying the category, title of the entry & exhibitor'’ name. 10 All views will be behind glass in their individual sleeves. 11. Ribbons will be awarded within the Vintage and Modern divisions for first, second, and third place. We will also award a Best New Exhibitor ribbon. The Tex Treadwell Award will be given to the best exhibit in the competitive exhibition with the winner determined by the judges. Whichever category (Vintage or Modern) wins the Tex Treadwell Award will then only be given 2d and 3rd Place ribbons
