Considers foreign and domestic cinema with attention given to film in terms of archetype, myth, symbol, characterization, and plot. Open repeatability. Student Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to: (1) Examine film as a 20th 21st century art form; (2) Criticize foreign and domestic films; (3) Examine aesthetic categories of film; (4) Define the literary development in modern times. Class Cancellation Notification Policy: It is not possible to call every student if a class must be cancelled at the last minute due to emergency.
