Sadie Mckee, aged 46 years, wife of Austin McKee of 33 Goshen avenue, died at 7 o’clock Saturday night. Her death was caused by pneumonia, which developed from influenza. Mr. McKee, who was prostrated with the disease before his wife became a victim, recovered in time to assist in caring for her, altho both were confined to their beds during the early period of her illness. Mrs. McKee was attacked a week ago Thursday. Mrs. McKee, who was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Fields, was born in Iowa on September 11, 1872. When she was a child she was brought to this county by her parents, living with them in Wakarusa for a number of years. It was while in Wakarusa that she united with the Christian church of that village. A few years ago the family moved to this city, and it was here on Nov. 24, 1914 that her marriage to Mr. McKee took place. Mrs. McKee is survived by her husband; her father; two brothers, George Fields of this city, and Arthur Fields, whose home is in Iowa; and a sister, Mrs. Rosa Goss of Goshen. The funeral service was held at the home of 2 o’clock this afternoon, Rev. H. H. Wolford of The First Brethren church officiating. Burial took place at the Rice cemetery, Monday’s Elkhart Truth.
