ROLE DESCRIPTION ROLE TITLE: Volunteer Business/ Corporate Development Intern ACCOUNTABLE TO: Corporate Fundraising Manager TIME COMMITMENT: Ideally NICHS would like to appoint a candidate who can commit on a regular basis LOCATION: NICHS, 21 Dublin Road Belfast, BT2 7HB (The role will be based in Belfast but may require travel within Northern Ireland to fulfil the requirements of the role.) RENUMERATION: This is a voluntary role and is unpaid; however NICHS will be able to cover volunteer expenses such as lunch, parking, mileage/ travel expenses incurred within the role THE PERSON: An enthusiastic, motivated, self starter seeking to gain experience within the business development world. You will have the exciting chance to work within the corporate marketing function of one of the most wellknown, local health charities in Northern Ireland. Within this exciting role, you will provide valuable administrative support to a small but dynamic team, whilst working on your own initiative, with an opportunity to carry out specific projects. You will be a confident communicator, both written and verbally, happy to liaise with all levels of corporate support and you will use your creativity to help market NICHS to the business world within NICHS fundraising and communication activities. NICHS-HR-VFRI-2013 VOLUNTEER ROLE PURPOSE: To assist the Corporate Fundraising Manager to maximise income from corporate support within Northern Ireland and raise awareness of the work we do. To update as necessary NICHS corporate database 2. To assist in the development of Corporate fundraising tools, materials and products 3. To assist with the creation and distribution of promotional materials Research and Events 1. To undertake research to help develop new corporate leads 2. To assist with NICHS corporate events, development/ networking programme and corporate fundraising appeals Admin/Internal Communications 1. To work within the Data Projection Act, NICHS Practices as well as Institute of Fundraising Codes which we will go through with our volunteer induction process 2. To assist with the administration required for corporate donor communication plans and donor care support and stewardship 3.
