In Class Assessments……………70%
You will have approximately 8-10 assessments during the course of the semester.
These may take the form of a closed book test, open book test, lab work, practice
questions, etc. One of these assessments will occur after every 8-10 classes (two or
three monthly). If you miss an assessment, you have 1 week to write the missed
assessment. If a sufficient amount of time passes and you have NOT written the
assessment, I will contact home and set up a date for you to complete the assessment.
If you miss this deadline, you will be awarded 0%.
At the end of the semester, I will drop your lowest assignment mark.
The remaining marks will make up your grade heading into the final exam.
Cumulative final exam …………….30%
Class Expectations:
Please come prepared to class. You will need a calculator and writing utensil daily!
If you miss a class, it is your responsibility to get caught up. I will provide extra help
if asked – but before coming to me for help, please ask a classmate for any
notes/assignment questions. When you come to see me for help, you should come
with specific questions and/or topics, not with the expectation that I will re-teach the
entire hour lesson.
The wikispace for this class is at http://listromgreenall.wikispaces.com/ . This website
will contain notes, smartboart files and assignments. You are responsible for the
content on the Chemistry 30 page – we cover this content in class, but this website
serves as a textbook for you, so please utilize this site.
