Atom Model
To help learn about the different parts of an atom, you will create an atom model. You may
choose which element to make a model of. Your choices are limited to the first 10 elements on
the periodic table (you may receive extra credit if you choose to do a harder element...for
example neon vs. hydrogen). The models can be made out of any materials including clay, playdoh, Styrofoam, homemade flour dough, wax, wood, candy, and paper. They should be three
dimensional. They will be hung from the ceiling.
You must include the proton(s), neutron(s), and electron(s). They should be labeled. The
charges of each part should also be on the model. Include the name of the element on the model.
Put your name on the model.
Grading will be as follows:
Atom Model Completed
Part Included/Labeled (3 pts. each)
Creativity/Neatness
