TechSpa Releases Version 2.0 of ‘Contemporary Control System’
Low-Cost Control System for Hotels, Resorts and Multi-Zone Facilities
March 6, 2016 - Winter Park, Florida – TechSpa, InfoComm09 Booth #6343, the most widely recognized
and trusted programming consultancy in the systems integration industry, is proud to announce Version 2.0 of
the popular Contemporary Control System for hotels, resorts, convention centers and other multi-zone facilities.
The Contemporary Control System V2 implements new features to make it more applicable and versatile to a
wider range of diverse applications. Like its Version 1 predecessor, on average, the Contemporary Control
System V2 can save the system integrator up to 60% over other systems without sacrificing control features and
processing power.
TechSpa originally developed the Contemporary Control System to operate user functions for multi-zone
background music systems using an intuitive GUI on an ‘off-the-shelf’ touch-screen computer. The
Contemporary Control System V2 expands on V1 by designing in modularly for compatibility with most
modern DSP engines on the market including, but not limited to QSC, BiAmp, BSS, and MediaMatrix, with
surprisingly little configuration time.
Contemporary Control System V2 also boasts some new (and impressive) features, namely support for control
of playback devices from Alcorn-McBride, including the popular Digital Binloop™. If external gear is not your
cup of tea, V2 also features Audio Playback of wav files built into the software for simple scheduling of canned
messages and announcements.
Networked control is now offered in CCS V2 also. As with V1, CCS can be used in a standalone application or
with the improved functionality of V2, from any number of remote points of control. Additionally, CCS V2
offers wall control and room combining support. In environments where keypads or small wall controllers are
required, CCS V2 can provide a layer of compatibility between devices from multiple manufacturers. Using
new room combining features, each room can be controlled individually or reflect changes make in other rooms
in the group, all based on the state of the room combining scenario.
The simplicity of the control system is derived partly from the expandable control feature sets, which can be
customized for any specific application by TechSpa technicians prior to installation and fine-tuned thereafter by
the integrator. TechSpa’s Contemporary Control System V2 features include room combining, paging,
telephone paging and TechSpa’s proprietary Butler engine that ‘serves up events on your schedule.’ In essence,
Butler controls event scheduling for every aspect of the system, including automated source muting, volume
adjustments, room combining, message playback, system reset and more. The Contemporary Control System
V2 is compatible with wall-mounted control panels and the entire system can be controlled wirelessly.
To make technology relaxing, TechSpa can configure and ship the Contemporary Control System V2 as a
standalone software package, or installed on Tablet PCs, Touch Computers or a rack-mount servers so the
integrator doesn’t have to waste time installing (and configuring) software. Each Contemporary Control
System V2 ships pre-configured for its application by TechSpa personnel per the integrators specific
instructions. Most orders for the Contemporary DSP Background Music Control System can ship in as little as
one week from date of order.
Established in 2003, TechSpa has been integral to the success of numerous high-profile and prestigious
international installations, including the Orange County Convention Center, the Atlantis Resort, the Bellagio
Resort Casino, Disney Cruise Lines and Theme Parks, NASA, Holland America Cruise Lines, Heathrow
Airport, and the Phoenix Convention Center, considered the largest DSP project in North America.
