The course consists of units based on a specific topic with specific vocabulary and language structures, and covers a wide range of skills. Students read and discuss a variety of authentic texts, including excerpts from books, newspapers and magazines, listen to interviews with native speakers of English, and analyse given topics both orally and in writing. Students develop their communication skills in order to communicate ideas and messages more clearly and effectively. The focus is on further practicing of acquired grammatical structures and significant expansion of vocabulary with a view to achieving the level of flexible and efficient use of language in various social situations. Emphasis is laid on analyzing the context of use of particular words and collocations and advanced use of idioms.
