News Release Lexmark helps Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad achieve savings efficiency through Managed Print Services Kuala Lumpur, 24 March 2010 – Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE: LXK) announced today that Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad (MYDIN) has achieved 40 percent savings on its printing expenditures pursuant to the implementation of Lexmark’s Managed Print Services (MPS). Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad, which manages the MYDIN chain of stores and hypermarkets, has successfully implemented Lexmark’s MPS at their headquarters in Subang Jaya, Malaysia, with approximately 2000 users, as well as at the company’s warehouses, hypermarkets and emporiums located across 27 sites nationwide. MYDIN’s implementation consisted of consolidating around 200 devices to 80 Lexmark laser multifunction products (MFPs) and single-function printers. “When visiting MYDIN’s premises to get a firsthand look at their working environment, we analyzed opportunities in several areas that Lexmark could immediately impact with its equipment and expertise in MPS,” said William Tan, Lexmark Malaysia’s country manager. “Working closely with MYDIN on their deployment and implementation strategies, we have upgraded their infrastructure and reduced their environmental footprint, all while helping to lower their printing costs.” To meet MYDIN’s specific needs, Lexmark installed an assortment of A4 and A3 colour and monochrome printers and MFPs supporting specific departmental requirements. The models included X646, X854, X772 and T644 laser devices. For print management solutions, while we installed the Lexmark Document Accounting Software tool. Malik Murad Ali, IT Director of Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad added, “With the implementation of Lexmark’s MPS, we were able to increase productivity and reduce operational costs in all our premises including hypermarkets, chain stores, warehouses and administrative offices. We cut down a sizeable amount of print supplies and equipment wastage and streamlined printing solutions for a more efficient and fiscally responsible working environment.” Malik added, “Lexmark’s MPS has put all of MYDIN’s printers on a single network, so we can easily transfer print jobs in the event of any technical downtime. No more delay in issuing documentation! Lexmark’s MPS also allows MYDIN’s management to monitor usage of print equipment and consumables and enforce quotas for colour printing, photocopying, and other output where necessary. With a centralized network, it was so simple to generate reports on the print resources consumed by each department and that has worked wonders towards encouraging responsibility towards usage of office equipment and supplies. Furthermore, Lexmark now manages all equipment and supplies of print consumables, thus equipment upkeep is no longer a hassle and we don’t need to stock large amounts of print supplies for a large range of printer models. In fact, we have reduced our inventory of printers by 60% nationwide.” ### For more information about Lexmark's products, solutions and services, see the "Lexmark" Facebook page and "LexmarkNews" Twitter feed, or visit the "LexmarkNews" YouTube channel for access to Lexmark videos and hands-on demonstrations.
