Operation Happiness In conjunction with Shearer Elementary Dear Parents, The season of giving and goodwill is fast approaching. With the unfavorable economic conditions we are all facing, the need for food, warm clothing, and open hearted giving is greater than ever. Thousands of Clark County families, some of those being Shearer families, will not have access to a warm Holiday meal this season. That’s where Operation Happiness steps in. For over 40 years, the all volunteer organization has provided a boxed meal, turkey included, free of charge to families in need. This Holiday season, I am asking your family to join with Shearer Elementary, and Operation Happiness, in helping to provide holiday meals to our friends and neighbors who are in need. How can you help? It’s easy. Your child’s class will be collecting non-perishable food items in a contest to see which class collects the most! The class which gathers the most food will win a PIZZA PARTY provided by our Family Resource Center! Cans will be gathered from classrooms daily starting Wednesday, December 2nd , and ending Thursday, December 10th . All food will be stacked in front of the cafeteria to show our students how small, individual acts of kindness can combine together to make a BIG difference in our community. Thank you in advance for your support of Shearer students, Shearer families, and Operation Happiness. Together we WILL make a difference!
