Software Skills CAD software: Pro-E, AutoCAD CFD pre-processing packages: ICEM CFD, Gambit CFD solver & post-processing packages: ANSYS-CFX, Fluent, Star CCM+ 8.04 Other Software’s for Analysis: ANSYS Work Bench , Surge Analysis Program(SAP2) Page 1 of 3 CFD Projects Pump & Sump Flow studies using CFD techniques Client: Shell Hazira Port and LNG terminal Hazira, Surat The scope of CFD analysis is to analyze the flow in the sump/pump for studying the suitability of the pump sump arrangement. The study has also been demonstrated to present the effect of suspended solids/ silt on the pump performance as well as deposition of the silt in possible dead zones of the sump. CFD studies of Sea water intake and outfall system for Bandar Abbas Gas Condensate Refinery. Client: Persian Gulf Star oil Co. Iran The principal our objectives of the design review in this project are: Uniform flow distribution in inlet section of the drum filters. Eliminate unfavorable vortexes in the inlet common basin. Prevent formation of separation flow in the pump sumps in order to have a uniform flow near pump section region. Prevent submerged hydraulic jump formation in pump bays. Proposed optimal basin geometry. Performance improvement of double suction centrifugal pump, Split Case Pump, Vertical turbine pumps and Suction Diffuser valve using CFD tools. Impeller and volute performance prediction using steady state single phase flow CFD analysis for small and large pumps. The objective of this project is to check the efficiency of the pump and the locations of the recirculation and flow separation zones in the pump. CFD analysis is done by varying the geometrical parameters of the pump impeller to get the required head and efficiency. Development of new series of end suction pumps by obsolescence of existing product range and comparing it with the competitor’s product range. Collect the competitors data required for comparison with the existing product range. Decide new duties for development of the pump against competitor’s product. Preliminary calculations to find the interchangeability with the existing product range. Prepare hydraulic models as per calculations. CFD analysis of the developed pumps and compare the results as per market requirement. Prepare Hydraulic drawings of pump. Development of new series of low NPSHr Pumps Collect the competitors data required for comparison with the existing product range. Decide new duties for development of the pump against competitor’s product. Preliminary calculations to find the interchangeability with the existing product range. Prepare hydraulic models using CAD softwares as per calculations. CFD analysis of the developed pumps using STAR CCM+ 8.04 and compare the results as per market requirement. Surge Analysis Projects Surge analysis for irrigation projects and CW systems. Gives Suggestions about the protection devices after the analysis. Page 2 of 3 Structural Analysis Projects Structural analysis was done for the purpose of cost optimization of Butterfly valves. Analysis was done for many Test plates of motor and engines. The purpose of the analysis was to test the strength of the plate and to suggest any modifications if required. New Product Development-Valves Suction Diffuser and Triple duty Valves for HVAC applications. CFD analysis was done for both the valves and the analysis has been done for valve with pump also. Suggested modifications after CFD analysis. Academic Projects Inspection ,Maintenance and Design Modification Of centrifugal Pump [B.Tech Project] Case study was done in FACT , Udyogamandal. Inspection and maintenance methods were studied. Impeller design studies were done and suggested Expeller in the pump. Design was implemented later in the Ammonia plant as was found successful. Study of Tip clearance Loss in Axial Compressor(M.Tech Project) Modeled a 2 –D model for studying the effects of tip clearance losses in Axial Compressor. CFD analysis has been done on the same model and found the various losses. The CFD analysis of the 2 –D models has been compared with that of 3-D model. Found the 2-D model useful for quick prediction of losses. This could reduce the time and capabilities required for analysis. During the study, effects of various turbulence models in 2-D cases were studied. CFD tools: Pre-processor- Gambit, ICEM CFD Post-processor-FLUENT, ANSYS CFX.
