Intersession Registration and Course Start Checklist for SJU Undergraduate Day Students Registration for Intersession begins October 29, 2012 and runs through Dec. 21, 2012. 1. REVIEW the January Intersession course schedule by visiting www.sju.edu/pls (Click on Adult Learner and then Class Schedule). The class schedule also will be viewable through My SJU. Download and print the registration form from the PLS site. 2. CHECK PRE-REQUISITES: Read course descriptions carefully and take note of any co/prerequisites, recommended courses, or other course related issues. 3. DO YOU PLAN TO TAKE THE COURSE TO FULFILL A GER OR GEP REQUIREMENT? Verify that the course has been approved for GER and/or GEP when taken as an intersession course. If a course has been approved for GER and/or GEP, it will be noted on the class schedule and on the syllabus. Please see the course schedule posted on the PLS website (www.sju.edu/pls - Click on Adult Learner and then Class Schedule) for this information. 4. OBTAIN APPROPRIATE APPROVAL: (Please note: Dean’s Office approval is NOT required for intersession courses) Major course – requires only your Department Chair’s or Program Director’s approval and signature. VERIFY THAT YOU CAN ATTEND ALL CLASS DATES: Review the times and dates that Intersession courses will meet. You will be required to attend all class sessions during Intersession. Classroom-based courses meet Wednesday-Friday (1st week) and Monday-Friday (2nd week) from 6:00-9:30 p.m. and two Saturdays 9:00 a.m. -12:30 p.m. (January 2 - January 12, 2013). Hybrid courses meet for one-half of the session in-class and one-half the session online using the Blackboard Online Learning Management System. Meeting dates for hybrid courses are at the discretion of the faculty and are listed in the syllabus available at the Intersession Course Schedule web page 6. SUBMIT REGISTRATION FORM AND PAYMENT: Submit registration form and course tuition payment to Hawk Central, Barbelin Hall, Rm 121. Payment for registration is by cash or check. An “Intersession Financial Responsibility Agreement” is available if payment cannot be made at time of registration. See below for payment options. 7. REVIEW SYLLABUS, OBTAIN REQUIRED TEXTBOOKS & COMPLETE PRE-ASSIGNMENTS: The course syllabus may be obtained on the January Intersession course schedule webpage www.sju.edu/pls. Please read the syllabus thoroughly and make note of pre-assigned reading or work due for the first course meeting. 8. RE-CHECK THE WEB FOR CLASSROOM ASSIGNMENTS: Classroom assignments for Intersession will be posted at the end of December. You will be responsible for locating this information prior to your class start. Re-check the Intersession course schedule web page for this information or locate this information in MySJU< School Services<Administrative Services< Student< Registration< Student Schedule Detail. 9. CLASSES START: Wednesday, January 2, 2013 TUITION COSTS Tuition: $1500.00 per course. Cost of textbooks is additional and varies from course-to-course. Please reference your syllabus for textbook information. Textbooks are available for purchase at the SJU Bookstore, North 54th Street. PAYMENT OPTIONS REGISTER AND PAY IN PERSON: Complete the Intersession 2013 registration form and obtain appropriate approval (see #4 above for more information). Bring form and payment to Hawk Central - Pay by cash or check. No credit cards may be accepted for payment for Intersession tuition for day students. Payment may be made on a student account in the Hawk Central at a self-service computer terminal at the time of registration. REGISTER AND PAY WITH FINANCIAL AID: Complete an Intersession 2013 registration form and obtain the appropriate approval for the course (see #4 above for more information). Submit registration form to Hawk Central, Room 121. REGISTER AND SUBMIT “INTERSESSION FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AGREEMENT” FORM Complete an Intersession 2013 registration form and obtain the appropriate approval for the course (see #4 above for more information). Obtain Intersession Financial Responsibility Agreement Form from Hawk Central. Please note – if Intersession course is not paid for by January 2, 2013, student will be dropped from it without any further notification. Submit registration form and Intersession Financial Responsibility Agreement Form to Hawk Central, Room 121.
