CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Robertson called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. 2. PUBLIC COMMENT None. 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approval of October 28, 2009 Regular Meeting Minutes The Minutes were unanimously approved as amended. The amendments were: Item 2. Note: Change to: Lisa Taylor appointed by Councilmember Wozniak, but not sworn in; Item 7.2 and 7.3 remove “no action taken”; Item 9.1. and 9.3 remove Robbin Henderson; Item 13 change adjournment time to 8:30pm. 5. ACTION ITEMS 1. Support the Planning Staff Report that allows for Arts and Crafts uses under the Special Provisions heading in the West Berkeley Plan. Dave Blake and David Snippen Motion Commissioner Blake, second Commissioner Johnson to support new, simplified language concerning West Berkeley Artist in the West Berkeley Plan. Vote: Approved unanimously (5 in favor, 4 absent). 2. Appoint David Snippen as Commissioner to act as Liaison for the Marina Open Circle Public Art Project to the Civic Arts Commission starting in January 2010 until the completion of the project. Motion: Commissioner Blake, second Commissioner Robertson to appoint David Snippen as Commissioner Liaison for the Marina for the Marina Open Circle Public Art Project starting in January 2010 until the completion of the project. Vote: Approved unanimously (5 in favor, 4 absent). 3. Appoint a Civic Arts Commissioner to take David Snippen’s place on the Design Review to Represent the Civic Arts Commission starting in January 2010. Motion: Commissioner Robertson, second Commissioner Snippen to appoint Commissioner Blake to replace David Snippen of the Design Review Board to represent the Civic Arts Commission starting in January 2010. Vote: Approved unanimously (5 in favor, 4 absent). 2 8. STAFF REPORT 1. December 2, 2009 Panel Meeting for Addison Street Curator in Civic Arts Office 2. City Council Consent Item for the contract for the Marina Environmental Public Art Project 3. Process for 510Arts.com postings 4. Addison Street Tour for December 6, 2009 5. Berkeley Cultural Trust 510 Arts Reception at the Freight & Salvage on December 7, 2009 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm- Roll out of 510Arts.com web site and thank you to the funding Foundations and City Council 6. Request the Civic Arts Commission Committee Chairs post consistent monthly meeting times and that these times be the same each month for planning and that the Committee Chairs write a description of what the duties and goals of each committee is so that this can be posted with the meeting times for clarity. 9.
