UNIT 23 SCHEME OF WORK This scheme of work supports the teaching of OCR National Unit 23 Creating Video. Briefing Notes for Staff The unit counts towards a first certificate combined with Unit 1 (One GCSE) The students need to analyse and evaluate existing clips before writing a brief about the video they will edit. They will need a video clip and audio files provided for them to be able to produce the final product. Evidence of editing and testing will be required. The moderator will watch the completed video during the moderation process whilst checking the paper folders. Pupils will need to take regular backups and save the movie maker project regularly to avoid losing the project due to unforeseen problems. Annotated print screens will be required as evidence and witness statements can be used where needed. Sample coursework is available as well as individual parts of the coursework that can be used as exemplars for students. ICT Dept MJS 2008 B. LEARNING ACTIVITIES The SOW has been broken down into tasks as opposed to lessons. A task may be shorter or longer then a single lesson and lesson plans should reflect this.
