Instructions for Paper Preparation and Submission First Author, Second Author Affiliation Abstract This paper provides an example of the layout and style for the paper submissions for the Conference. Paper submission information is also discussed. 1 INTRODUCTION The purpose of the introduction is to present background information for the work with literature references, and possibly to outline the organization of the paper. In section 2 the requirements for the format of the papers are discussed. The purpose of the introduction is to present background information for the work with literature references, and possibly to outline the organization of the paper. 2 PREPARATION OF PAPERS The instructions are the same for paper submission for the review process, and for camera-ready versions. The instructions are meant to be taken literally for the final paper submission, to ensure high quality of the proceedings. The paper should clearly and concisely state the specific results of the work, why it is important, and how it differs from prior works by the authors or by others. The main results of the work must be clearly indicated. Do not submit work that has already been presented at another conference, or that has already been published. Submissions from academia as well as from industry are encouraged. 2.1 Paper Format Please strictly follow these specifications when preparing the final version of the manuscript. Papers not complying with it (especially in layout geometry and typesetting) will not be included in the proceedings. 2.1.2 Typesetting 10pt size font should be used for the body of the paper. 2.1.3 Title and author name(s) The paper title and the author names appear on the first page and should be set centered across the full page width. The title is set in 18pt bold letters. The author names appear below the title in 13pt size, normal face. The complete affiliations of the authors (with e-mail addresses) should be in 11pt size. 2.1.4 Abstract The paper should start with an abstract giving a short overview on the discussed matter and the presented results. The abstract should be set using 9pt, bold face font. It should not exceed 15 lines. 2.1.5 Section headings The section and subsection headings appear in 10pt, bold face. They are aligned on the left of a column. Sections and subsections are numbered using Arabic numbers. Section headings should be capitalized. First paragraph of each section and subsection should not be indented. 2.1.6 Figures and tables Figures should be numbered in the order of appearance in the paper. Figures should be positioned within a single column or they can span two columns. In the latter case they should be placed at the top of a page. Figure and table captions should be placed below the corresponding figures and tables (see Fig. 1 and Table 1). The captions are centered within a column. 2.1.1 Page layout The paper should be composed using the A4 paper size (210mm x 297mm). The left and right margins should be 25mm, while the top and bottom margins should be 30mm. All the material should fit within a rectangle of 160mm x 237mm. The paper should be set in two columns with 4mm column separation. Pages should be without page numbers. Figure 1: Resistive grid. Figures and tables should be placed as close as possible to the text where they are first referenced to. ------------ additional instructions ----------------------Text and figures should be in black and white !! Parameter R1 C Value 10 [] 15.3 [] Pagination Do Not Put Page Numbers on the manuscript. These will be put by the publishers. Table 1: Parameters and their values. Page Limits 2.1.7 Equations Equations are centered within columns. They may have a reference number placed on the right. The reference number should be enclosed in parentheses. For example see equation (1). n f ( x, y ) c i ( x y ) i 1 2 i 2 i (1) 2.1.8 References A list of references should appear at the end of paper as a separate unnumbered section. References should be listed in the order appearance in the paper. Use square brackets for reference list and when referring to references in text, e.g. [3]. For other features of paper layout, including spacing see the example files. 3 You are asked to limit the manuscript to six pages. To estimate the length of a manuscript, assume about 850 to 900 words per published page. Each figure or table will generally occupy one-fourth to one-third of a page. Submission Papers should be submitted in Microsoft Word format and Adobe Acrobat pdf format to Email address iztok.sorli@guest.arnes.si Please carefully follow the instructions given there. Name the files with author’s last name followed by midem2007 (for example: Sorli_midem2007.doc and Sorli_midem2007.pdf). the Copyright of the the By submitting the paper to the conference, the authors transfer the copyright to the MIDEM2007 conference committee. the The Adobe Acrobat PDF-file format CONCLUSIONS Instructions for paper preparation and submission were specified. Please check these instructions for possible updates before submitting the final paper. Acknowledgments Acknowledgments (if any) should appear as a separate non-numbered section before the list of references. References [1] M. Valtonen, T. For various word processor files the layout appears to be printer dependent. As a consequence a word processor file that is well formatted for your printer can be badly formatted for our PDF-printer. Using Adobe Acrobat PDF-Writer as your default printer, when creating your document, can circumvent this problem. Printing to Adobe Acrobat PDF-Writer will create a PDF-file of your document. PDF-files can be opened by PDF-reader. The layout then appears to be printer independent. For authors having Adobe Acrobat PDF-Writer installed: Set PDF-Writer as your default printer before formatting your document. Format the document as previously described Please check the following settings of the Acrobat PDFWriter: Page set-up: Page size: A4 Format: Portrait Graphics: Resolution: 600 dpi Scaling: 100% Acrobat PDFWriter font embedding: Embed all fonts Acrobat PDFWriter compression: General settings: Compress text and vector graphics Recalculate graphics Colour / greyscale images: Compression with JPEG low B/W images: Compression with CCITT group 4 Remark: Your document should be formatted for A4 paper format before creating the Pdf file of the document. Do not create your document on "letter format" paper and try to resize it for A4 paper. The editors have learned in previous years that this can give severe problems in creating the proceedings -------- end of additional instructions --------------
