We can run ArcMap (and other ArcGIS programs) locally on the PCs in H461, however
you can also connect to ArcMap from any computer on the network by going to MyApps.
To be able to access our Instructor Volume through an Online version of ArcMap, you
must launch a specialized version of ArcMap for GLG590, which you can navigate to in
MyApps by searching on ArcMap:
From the GLG590 ArcMap version you can see the Instructor Volume as an option when
you select “Connect to Folder” (Q drive) (‘afs\asu.edu\class\g\l\g\glg490’):
Other versions of ArcMap can not see anything on the Q: drive.

If you want to run locally on your laptop, use SSH to general.asu.edu to grab the data
(see http://www.asu.edu/myapps to download SSH and Access an Instructor Volume
(scroll down to Using SFTP Method) for info on connecting to the data volume).
General information and instructions for accessing Instructor Volumes (the Q: drive) can

If you will use the computers in our computer lab PSH-461, log in with your ASURITE
ID and password, and test running GLG590 ArcMap on one of the desktop PCs.
