Each performance that you are in How to set your log book out: Divide your entries for your technique classes into the following sections: 1. Performance Workshop 2. Choreography workshops 3. Choreography, self directed study 4. Dance appreciation 5. Performance evaluations - Performance workshop - Dance performance of own choreography - Dance performance of tutor led show - Evaluation of choreographic process We have included an example of what you should be thinking about what recording an entry; remember this information contributes towards your assessments so it is important that you keep track of your progress in your log book. The information that you log here will help you write your evaluations. For each entry, you don’t need to write under every heading, but remember not to write “good” or “ok”; your log book is for you to reflect on how you are doing and think about what you need to improve, what you are doing well in, etc.... You might want to include any research/ discussions that you have had that relates to your logbook entry. You will notice that there are three different forms: 1 for rehearsals, 1 for self directed study practical sessions and 1 for performances. There are guidelines for what to include within your evaluations of your work. There is one copy of each form; you should either photocopy them so you have one for each entry and then type them up, or fill them out online. Characterisation & Interpretation: What further research and development could you do to improve this process? Line Learning: How are you progressing with this? How can you better this? New techniques: Have you been using new devising techniques? Are you implementing them into your work? Research: Remember and keep everything that you find, even if you don’t end up using it. Either keep your research with your log book entry or create appendices at the back of your log book. Development: Did you use this time for developing your piece or your characterisation? What have you found out/ decided? Did you use the work you have done?
