Cell Parts Web Quest Introduction: Cells are amazing structures. They can function alone as individual organisms (e.g. a bacterium), or they can work together to form tissues or organs which perform amazing functions (e.g. muscles, skin, heart, liver). Understanding the basic structure and function of cells and their parts is essential to understanding how organisms live and work. Task: You will be working through a web quest to gather information about cells and cell parts. You will be organizing this information onto study cards that you can then use to help you in your learning. Procedure: Use the websites I have reviewed to help you collect the information you need to fill out your study cards. • Wednesday • Using Word, begin to gather information/pictures about the cell parts listed on the back of this sheet • Thursday • go to the Quizlet website: quizlet.com • sign up for Quizlet • use your NWS email account • choose a user name and a password that is easy for you to remember • Click on Create a Study Set • this will allow you to begin making your flashcards • use the information you gathered from Wednesdays class for your flashcards Resources: The following is a list of website I have carefully selected for you to use as you work through your web quest. Please refrain from using other non-vetted websites.
