bureau during the 2006 Mumbai train attacks and Sri Lankan crisis.

Awards/Honors

McCormick Foundation Fellowship
Selected as one of 14 participants from across the country to spend the week at Ft. Leonard Wood and Ft.
Leavenworth to learn the functions of the U.S. Army and speak with officers and recruits about Army functions and
foreign conflicts. The program is organized by the University of Kansas Journalism School.

Gannett Talent Development Scholarship
Selected as one of 30 national scholars upon graduation from Northwestern. Went through a series of workshops
about Gannett’s business model at the corporate headquarters and online. Program’s mission is to recruit and develop
the “nation’s top graduating seniors”.

ABC Diversity Scholarship
Selected as one of 10 national scholars to be paid to intern at ABC’s Law and Justice Unit in NY. Went through a 3
day series of workshops and lectures with ABC News’ top executives. Program’s mission is to recruit more
women and minority voices into mainstream American networks.
