STUDENT COMMITMENT-WINTER SESSION
Online courses are very challenging. They are ideally suited for students who can manage
their time well and can organize their schedules. You should plan to spend time each week for
reading the e-book materials/ONLINE CLASS and completing all HOMEWORK/ACTIVITIES
assignments. You are responsible for keeping yourself updated with all of our assignments and
notifying the instructor if you have a medical or personal emergency.
Please remember that online courses take as much time (and usually more) to complete
successfully as a traditional courses, so please do organize your time accordingly Please also
remember that winter sessions are exceptionally demanding in terms of schedule Our
traditional courses meet 3 hours per week with an additional 6 to 8 hours of outside work
per week. Therefore for this Winter 2015-2016 session you need to be able to commit at
least 15-18 hours per week to this course in order to be successful.
INSTRUCTOR COMMITMENT
As your instructor, I will follow the class as I have outlined in this syllabus. If any changes are
needed in our syllabus to accommodate our class or the schedule of assignments, I will
announce them well in advance to give you time to adjust. Please know that I am committed to
your success and to your learning and to creating an atmosphere where you can all feel free to
think, speak, read, write and imagine en español. Please be assured that you can count on the
same attention, care and professionalism in this online course that you would find in my face-toface class.
11. COURSE CALENDAR: Please read carefully and follow the course schedule/track as you
appears in PORTALES to see what you are expected to study each week. You must focus on
the work for that week and for that week only. Allow enough time to read, study and understand
