Our Sustainability Initiative
"Making the Right Choices for More Choices"
Bensenville, IL - May 8, 2007 - Because it is our goal to be a leader in the seafood industry,
we find it our responsibility to provide, promote and market environmentally friendly wild
fisheries and aquaculture. Fortune Fish Co. will feature a sustainable seafood choice every 2
months and donate a portion of the profits to partner organizations that are committed to the
future health and supply of our seafood resources.
During the months of May and June, Fortune Fish Co. will feature Australis Barramundi and
donate $.50 for every pound sold to the Seafood Choices Alliance, a global trade association
for sustainable seafood.
Sustainability Initiative Kickoff
As an initial show of commitment to this signature initiative, Fortune Fish Company donated
$1 for every person who attended the 2007 Fortune Fish Gourmet Food Expo and presented a
check for $1,162 to Chicago's John G. Shedd Aquarium.
The event was attended by guests representing the seafood, conservation, research,
education, restaurant, hotel, private club and retail food service industries. The keynote
address was given by Michelle Jost, the Conservation Programs Manager at Chicago's Shedd
Aquarium, who discussed seafood sustainability and current environmental issues.
