ON-CAMPUS EMPLOYMENT HELP FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS Finding a part-time job on LSU’s campus can be difficult but not impossible. Here are some ways to find a campus job: 1. Departments sometimes look for students with Work Study or Chancellor’s Aide because it helps with departments’ limited budgets. Depending on the work load or employee shortage, departments will sometimes hire students who don’t have Work Study or Chancellor’s Aide (an award granted to students at the admission stage). Inquire with and apply at any department where you would like to work and at as many different departments as possible. NOTE: Departments are not required to list openings with the LSU Olinde Career Center, and vacancies are often filled with students who apply directly at the department. 2. If you don’t have Work Study or Chancellor’s Aide, some of the largest employers of students on campus are: The LSU Union Office (apply in room 310 of the LSU Union) LSU Dining – Chartwells, The Club at LSU Union Square, etc. (apply at The Club located across Highland Road from the LSU Union) LSU UREC (also known as the University Recreation Center) LSU Bookstore (Barnes & Noble) The LSU Olinde Career Center provides the Careers2Geaux system, which includes an online, searchable job board that is updated daily with jobs of all types and in a variety of fields. This site can be accessed through your myLSU personal desktop under “Student Services” or on their website: http://students.lsu.edu/careercenter ON-CAMPUS RESOURCES LSU Olinde Career Center This department helps students with any and all career-planning needs.
