Katsura Sunshine will give a rare English-language performance of rakugo, Japan’s traditional art of comedic storytelling, at UT Dallas. This one-man show, presented from a kneeling position with only two simple props – a fan and a towel, is sure to entertain. Trained in Osaka, Canadian born Sunshine earned the name of Katsura, a centuriesold rakugo family. Though unique to Japan, rakugo shares universal human sagas through the prism of laughter. Sponsored by Consulate-General of Japan in Houston utdallas.edu/asiacenter www.jasdfw.org The University of Texas at Dallas, 800 W. Campbell Rd., Richardson, TX 75080.
