Preface
In the last 6 decades there was a tremendous development within diagnostic
ultrasound imaging and a large number of different image processing methods and
signal processing techniques have been introduced and prolonged within the
medical area by manufacturers.
As a consequence thereof many abbreviations and special acronyms have
been found by the manufacturers for marketing purposes of their products and
techniques, partially describing the same technical content with other acronyms.
Within this 2nd Version around 500 different abbreviations and acronyms are
listed in alphabetical order.
