Welcome-to-the-ASEC-Diagnostic-Imaging

Welcome to the ASEC Diagnostic Imaging Department! Currently we have two board
certified radiologists (Dr Jean Reichle and Dr David Szabo), one Diagnostic Imaging
Intern, two Registered Veterinary Technicians (Juli Barron and Saleema Lookman), and
four assistants.
Dr Reichle typically works Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Dr Szabo
typically works Wednesdays through Saturdays. Once you are scheduled for a
Diagnostic Imaging Rotation at ASEC, we will assign you a Monday through Friday or
Tuesday through Saturday rotation; let us know if you have a preference.
You will participate in our film reading sessions on Thursday mornings after ER/ICU
rounds and Journal Club on Friday Mornings.
We start at 7am in the Rounds Room (downstairs) so please arrive a few minutes early
on your first day and ask the receptionist to show you how to get there. We usually
finish by 5:30 or 6pm. Please pack a lunch (we have two refrigerators in our break
room) as we do not get scheduled lunch breaks.
We cannot provide you with parking, so you need to find a spot on the street; pay close
attention to the street signs, especially on Thursdays due to street cleaning. We prefer
that you wear scrubs or "business casual" clothes with a lab coat.
We will give you a tour of the hospital and show you the radiographic teaching file,
which are for your review independently. We will also have you observe ultrasound and
CT studies and give you basic abdominal ultrasound training. We do not have MRI on
site, but we have cases in our image archive. You are also invited to join any lectures
and special rounds that are given to our interns/residents as well.
If you have any questions or specific goals, please let me know!
