PARTS M ANAGER - SCANIA POSITION DESCRIPTION

Purpose of the Position
The Parts Manager - Scania is responsible for controlling stock levels of critical Scania parts,
managing critical relationships, monitoring quality assurance and reporting. The Parts Manager Scania is also a source of technical Scania assistance and advice for colleagues. This role is also
responsible for maintaining and implementing parts strategies within the framework and contributes
to the overall achievement of CablePrice (NZ) Ltd’s Vision and Strategic Plan.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Management and Logistics
Ensure the efficient and effective management of Scania stock nationwide by keeping service levels
high and stock values down. Ensure the delivery of correct parts to customers and Workshops on
time, with the relevant documentation completed accurately. This includes invoices, payments and
other official papers.
Key Tasks:
 Ensure the effective planning and methodology is applied to maintain parts stock
coverage of Scania products
 Ensure Scania parts for new truck models and/or components that are deemed stock
items by the National Parts Manager are in stock to meet expected demand
 Liaise with the Workshop to ensure parts availability and ensure packaging, exchange
and warranty parts procedures are adhered to
 Maintain lists and stock levels of critical parts – Check and review critical stock lists
weekly to ensure 90% parts availability of critical parts
 Review quality aftermarket alternatives where genuine parts are not suitable and ensure
that alternative parts are of an acceptable quality
 Ensure that genuine parts suppliers are given sufficient opportunity to improve
 Participate in price negotiation with suppliers, contributing to overall and/or individual
pricing strategies
 Control inventory management systems in conjunction with the National Parts Manager
 Participate in the annual parts stocktake
 Participate on the afterhours call out roster on a regular basis, as and when required
 Provide and present inventory and other Scania parts reports in a professional manner
to key stakeholders on request
Product Knowledge
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of CPL products and services and keep up to date
with changes and improvements in the market to become a product expert.
Key Tasks:
 Actively encourage and grow your interest in the industry
 Keep up to date with market and product updates
 Be an expert on Scania product specifications to ensure you make accurate decisions
when problem solving and when ordering parts
 Read company publications such as Track and Wheel and the CablePrice Courier to
keep informed of company and product news
 Be aware of competitors products, including their similarities and differences to CPL
products

Key Account Management
Manage the Fonterra account to maintain and foster a mutually beneficial working relationship,
whilst meeting the expectations of Fonterra at all times.
Key Tasks:
 Supply parts to Fonterra in a timely and efficient manner
 Manage the business relationship with Fonterra
 Negotiate and provide pricing information
 Provide technical assistance to Fonterra when required
 Provide parts training for all Fonterra depots
 Responsible for all orders that are placed via National Parts
Parts Marketing and Branding
Responsible for the development of Scania parts by participating in the development and
implementation of the parts Sales and Marketing plan.
Key Tasks:
 Create, distribute and advise on new reference materials for products
 Create reference tools
 Distribute marketing materials no more than once a month on branch request in
conjunction with the National Parts Manager
 Implement and monitor the Scania parts sales and marketing plan
 Actively promote the Scania product and its benefits at all times
Customer Service
Represent CablePrice in a professional manner and communicate appropriately to customers
(internal and external), visitors and other stakeholders at all times.
Key Tasks:
 Build and develop customer relationships through the provision of excellent customer
service, ensuring customer needs are being met, and parts services are developed to
meet the future needs of the customer.
 Provide branches with parts, technical, pricing and shipment information as requested
and ensure all information provided is accurate
 All enquiries are to be answered in less than 12 hours unless there are unforeseen
circumstances
 Consistently provide a fast and efficient service to our internal and external customers
 Be friendly and approachable at all times
 Have regard for personal hygiene and appearance
 Be aware of language and personal conduct at all times
Training and Development
Actively seek out and embrace opportunities to up skill and improve your own and others general
Scania knowledge.
Key Tasks:
 Arrange staff training for Scania parts products and deliver training as necessary
 Ensure there is a staff training programme in place and that this is adhered to at all times
- Training standards are in agreement with the National Parts Manager and course
structure to be in agreement with the National Training Manager
 Personally attend professional training courses with the approval of the National Parts
Manager on a regular basis (at least one per year)

 Immediately report to management any accidents, injuries or near misses arising during
the course of employment and record these on the accident or Incident form on the day
of the event. Where an accident or injury is not reported, the company may not accept
any liability for payments relating to absence arising from the accident
 Ensure that you understand the company rehabilitation procedures should you be
injured while at work
 Immediately Isolate or lock out any Hazards you may discover and report to the
management
 Maintain and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment for the task at hand
 Undertake your duties in a safe and responsible manner at all times and ensure that no
action or inaction causes harm to yourself or others

 From time to time perform other tasks by mutual agreement in conjunction with your
manager
