School of Social Work Facilities at IUE
The Indiana University East School of Social Work is located on the first floor of the Tom Raper Hall Building
(TR). Many of the social work classes are held on the second/third floor of the TR Building. The first floor
contains the faculty and administrative offices and student and faculty mailboxes, TR150.
1. Communication with Students
Each IUE social work student is assigned a mail folder. The mail folders provide a means for the Program
Director, faculty, recorder, student services, field coordinators and others to communicate readily with students.
They are located in the Social Work Administrative Office (TR150) and should be checked frequently. Should
you find the office locked during your scheduled class time, contact campus police to gain access. University
police phone number (765) 973-8429, cell (765) 993-3488, email iuepd@indiana.edu.
E-mail is the primary means of communication and is done only through the IUE mail account. It is imperative
that every student understand the University’s utilization of advanced technological services. This includes the
use of e-mail and other related services. Students must apply for a permanent User ID that will allow use of
electronic mail as long as the student is enrolled at IUE. To access and activate your account go to:
https://onestart.iu.edu, choose “Don’t have account.” For questions or further assistance, go to UITS helpdesk
located in the Hayes building or call 765-973-8375. Additionally, you are able to forward your IUPUI e-mail to
another account like AOL or Yahoo. Instructions for forwarding your IUPUI email are available through the
above mentioned link.
New Students may visit the https://onestart.iu.edu site from an off campus computer to setup their new account
(follow the instructions carefully - click on the link: “Don't Have an Account?” just below the logon button ) or
go directly to http://itaccounts.iu.edu/ . On a Library computer (see circulation desk for a temporary logon to
computers) start Internet Explorer - click on the word “ here ” (located in the third bulleted item on the Library's
Home Page – http://www.iue.edu/library/ ) to start the new account setup process.
The Account Management Service is designed to help students, faculty, staff, affiliates and guests at Indiana
University to create and manage their computing accounts and passphrase. Create my first IU computing
accounts and passphrase, https://ams.iu.edu/skit/SkitMain.aspx.
You will find Oncourse, Onestart, Password Reset, IU East webmail (Student) and other helpful links at the
following Address: http:///www.iue.edu/administration/it/.
Forgotten ‘passphrase' or ‘usernames' will need to be reset in person at the IU East IT Helpdesk. Student ID or
other identification required. For questions or further assistance contact the IU East IT Help Desk – Hayes Hall
HY169 Phone (765) 973 – 8375.
