FEBRUARY 2015
Michael was one of 10 American students selected to participate in the 2014 Saudi Arabia Study
Visit Fellowship with the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations. He is back from what he describes to be the oftentimes misunderstood nation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
His delegation explored educational, political, historical and cultural aspects of the Kingdom through visits to businesses, museums, secondary and higher education institutions. One of his most memorable experiences while in the Middle East was an educational meeting with esteemed members of the Al Shura Council, Saudi Arabia's advisory body.
Michael is a current Cross-Cultural Studies graduate student at the University of Houston-Clear
Lake. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from TAMIU.
Michael currently serves as a Chief of Staff in the New Jersey Assembly where he works on issues such as homeland security, labor relations, port security, business trade, and commerce.
He received a Masters in International Banking (2004) and Business Administration (2007) at
Texas A&M International University. He moved on to serve as a Legislative Aide in the Texas
Senate and a Chief of Staff in the Texas House of Representatives. Michael also interned for the
New York City Council, providing research for environmental issues, and CNN, providing input on national Hispanic issues such as immigration.
Michael is a First Year PhD candidate and intends to earn a law degree. He hopes to become a consultant at the national and state level.
