Alumni.Arizona.edu Arizona 4-H Summer Exchange Program College of Architecture CAMP Architecture Designed for middle school and high school students, CAMP Architecture is a five-day sequence of highly orchestrated workshops. Host a Japanese young person for 4 weeks this summer and bring the world to your family. Since 1972, the 4-H pledge has included the phrase – “… and my world” – to recognize and celebrate our international connections and interdependence. Arizona 4-H offers a number of opportunities for 4-H members and families to experience the richness of the world, even without leaving home. Each summer, we need 10 host families for 10 Japanese 4-H/LABO youth ages 12-16 who come to Arizona for one month – July 22nd through August 19th. These eager Japanese youth want to experience American culture and learn English better by staying with your family. They need a host sibling of the same approximate age and we are in need of male host families. Eller College of Management DigiDudes and TechDivas Technology Programs Eller College of Management offers four camps for grades 3-5 and grades 6-8, offering a chance for students of all skill levels to participate in the DigiDudes and TechDivas Technology Programs . This summer’s camps are a partnership with the Girl Scouts of America and the Pima County Pima Library. Energetic teachers and plenty of hands-on time will help students understand the benefits of technology and how is shaping their world. My Dream Business This year, Eller College is also providing an in-depth experience in photography and RCampers O F filming with My E Dream Business. will have access to a Mac-centric Media Lab, W N which will allow them to work with powerful editing programs to create movies, business advertisements, and mix their own music. The camp will also introduce budgeting, PowerPoint presentation creation, and best practices like keeping the desktop and flash drives clean and clutter-free, and citing sources. Summer Camp Selection Tips Presented by Healthy Children Arizona What to look for when choosing a summer camp Healthy Children Arizona Look for a camp that promotes: Sun Safety 1 Limits the amount of outdoor activities scheduled between 10am and 4pm (when the sun’s rays are the strongest). 2 Encourages staff and campers to wear long sleeves and pants, broad brimmed hats, and sunglasses when they are outside. 3 Promotes the use of an SPF 30 sunscreen. 2012 Sports Camps There are a variety of sports camps going on this summer for young athletes.
