Program Management
Program Manager for the IT Systems Integration of acquired Texas Genco Corporation. This program
comprised over 40 integration initiatives and 25 full-fledged projects with a budget of $16 million.
Responsible for administration; planning; budgeting; scheduling; management reporting; interfacing with
the corporate integration program and oversight of contracted project managers. The program
completed successfully within 12 months, was delivered $6 million under budget, had no significant
unplanned system outages and experienced no major business issues or problems.
Provided regular and ad-hoc management reporting for the Texas Genco integration program and IT
portfolio projects including generation of weekly dashboard reports, weekly action items and monthly IT
reports for the executive Enterprise Resource Allocation committee.
Project Management Office
Co-managed a group of contracted project managers during the Texas Genco integration including hiring,
firing, training, mentoring and providing administrative oversight.
Project office for IT Controls group responsible for: oversight of and management reporting for all IT
projects; compliance with established Sox controls and SDLC process; and definition of SDLC processes.
Partnered with IT Controls Manager on a successful proposal to establish an IT Project Management
Office.
Developed and delivered an Introduction to Project Management course for IT employees.
Project Management
Project Manager for a 3-person management team assigned to rescue a troubled PeopleSoft Enterprise
Asset Management implementation project. Overcame many obstacles and successfully completed
implementation, training and deployment of the system at two power plants within the aggressive two
month target timeframe.
Led project to move the company’s intranet site to the SharePoint (MOSS) Enterprise Content
Management System (CMS) where each department could manage their own content. Led the project
from project charter through requirements development, implementation, content transfer, system
integration testing and user acceptance testing. Designed and implemented the taxonomy of the sites,
the security models and approval workflows. This project involved coordination, content
transfer/development and testing with 40 different corporate departments.
Implemented a scanned invoice processing system, using KnowledgeLake Capture desktop and
Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS), on an emergency time-frame when Accounts Payable
(AP) was consolidated and moved to a new location.
Project manager for Maximo Enterprise (MXES) system implementation for the South-Central region with
a budget of over $1.5 million. Guided the project through concept development and a prolonged
corporate approval process. Drafted procurement documents (RFP), evaluated proposals and selected
winning vendor. Kicked off and staffed the project at the power plant then recruited a project manager of
superior reputation to take over after being reassigned to the Texas Genco integration program.

Led development of several applications for ViroPharma including systems to track and manage clinical

Led TNDS/TK Y2K conversion project for Telcordia. Project was delivered on time, under budget and with
high quality which allowed client to ship software maintenance release a week early.
Software development manager for Ortho Clinical Diagnostic’s Ortho Assay Software application, a nextgeneration system for automated blood screening tests in blood banks. Received Director’s Award for
development of testing tool to aid development of robotic lab instrument.
Project manager and lead developer in a project to port and enhance a networked data collection
application for clinical test instruments and interfaces to laboratory information systems for MetPath.
Project manager and lead developer for a protocol conversion server which allowed ADSI-compatible
telephones (display screen, keyboard and smart-card interface) to access home banking applications for
Philips Home Services and Bell Communications Research.

Program manager at Hewlett-Packard for porting HP-UX operating system from proprietary CPU
architecture to Intel’s IA-64 platform. This effort involved coordination of over 40 program partners
representing 1,000 of engineers across the globe.
Project manager for Inferno network operating system project at Lucent Technologies.
Led Credit-Suisse First Boston Y2K assessment of 128 Equity Technology applications, developed
remediation strategies, project plans and schedules. Client was first organization in the corporation to
successfully complete QA audit of assessment and project strategies/plans.
Designed and implemented the Reference Data Delivery System for Bell Communication Research’s
SWITCH project. RDDS allowed configuration, database and schema data to be delivered and managed
using standard source code control and delivery systems.
Successfully led a strategic team of consultants hired to ensure Bell Communication Research’s
struggling COSMOS development team would complete a major feature release on-time. Led
performance team responsible for turning 65% performance degradation into an 11% improvement.

Design and implementation of AT&T Information Systems’ on-line marketing branch support applications
running on UNIX-based minicomputers, including marketing support tools and order placement system.
Designed and implemented a system for translating a special-purpose, mainframe, interpretive language

for AT&T Information Systems.
