The Planning Foundation of APA
The Planning Foundation of APA consolidates funding for philanthropic activities that the American Planning Association has supported for years in
one endowment — scholarships and community equity programs, for example — and new initiatives like special research projects and creative ways
to "tell the planning story" to an expanded audience. It is an independent 501(c)(3) subsidiary of APA with its own seven-member governing board.
Contributions designated "Community Planning Assistance Team Fund" will be used exclusively for the Community Planning Assistance Team
(CPAT) initiative, a part of APA's Community Assistance Program. By pairing expert urban planning professionals from around the country with
citizen planners from local communities, the CPAT initiative seeks to foster community education, engagement, and empowerment.
The "Disaster Relief Fund" will be used to support the planning efforts undertaken by APA and our chapters to help communities recover from the
devastation of natural disasters.
The Judith McManus Price Scholarship Fund was established to encourage women and minorities to enter the field of planning and pursue careers as
practicing planners in the public sector.
All contributions are fully tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
