OCTOBER 2014 TOPS AREA NEWSLETTER
Hello TOPS members,
What a great time we had at the Fall Rally in Eau Claire on October 18. A GREAT BIG THANKS to WI 36
Eau Claire for all the work they put into the decorations, and making the room look special. A special
thanks to Carole Kapus for her creativity and talents with the Poster Board display etc. Thanks also goes
out to Judy Spangler for allowing us to see her HUGE TOPS CHARMS collection necklace- what a history
that has !!
We had 75 wonderful, excited members in attendance
We had some great winners for the 3rd Quarter:
- Men’s division- First place with a 41.2 pound loss went to Vito Sblendorio of WI 694 Cornell.
Second place with a 11 pound loss went to Denis Kirkman of WI 694 Cornell.
-Women’s division- First place with a 27 pound loss went to Teresa Hankey of WI 592 Onalaska.
Second place with a 25.4 pound loss went to Linda Sblendorio of WI Cornell.
Third place with a 25 pound loss went to Judy Spangler of WI 36 Eau Claire.
We had a total of 20 people who lost over 10# for the quarter, with a whopping 328.95# that were lost
between the 20 members.
We had 21 new members for Third Quarter- WELCOME—WELCOME TO TOPS
Three ladies had consecutive weight loss all third quarter:
Elaine Miller of WI 725 La Crosse ; and from WI 1462 Black River Falls Nevada Martin and Robin
Bucholz.
Eight chapters have no gain meetings. The total of no gain meetings was 11 meetings.

We had all 25 chapters reporting this quarter- 1st time I have had all chapters report. Thanks weight

BEST PERCENTAGE OF WT LOSS PER MEMBER CHAPTERS:
1ST – WI 694 CORNELL 4.49%
2ND – WI 592 ONALASKA 3.92%
3RD- WI 36 EAU CLAIRE 3.24%
4TH WI 222 HUDSON 2.95%
I’m so proud of these members, and all our area’s TOPS members.
October Newsletter continued –
Nancy Bell, a KOPS from WI 36 Eau Claire is interested in starting a KOPS Society.
She explained to the members what it is about.
Carol Holtz our new TOPS Coordinator, said a few words.
Carol even brought a little music box to raffle off – going along with the theme of Fall Rally- TUNE INTO
TOPS.
We thanked Mary and Margaret Wheeler for being Publicity Volunteers in 2014. Each were given a
certificate, and small gift .
Lots of fun with the baskets for the Chinese raffle. Thanks to all who brought baskets and purchased
tickets. That money goes to the TOPS Northern Wisconsin fund.

I feel we are on the right track to really working hard at losing our extra weight, and doing this by using
all our TOPS Chapters have to help us along the way !!
Please take the time to read and use the TOPS Real People, Real Weight Loss book, our magazines and
using everything our website has to offer.
WI 889 Thorp volunteered to do the Fall Rally in 2015- Thank You.
Still 3 other quarterly meetings to set up February, Mid May and Mid- August.

Enough for my long letter- so many good things to report on.
Just makes you pumped up to do better the rest of 2014.
