Paprikaas Interactive
Based in Australia, Paprikaas Interactive creates computer
generated animation and visual effects for some of the top
production houses and studios in the world like Nickelodeon
and EA Sports. Recently, the company formed a strategic
alliance agreement with DreamWorks Animation SKG
Inc. to develop world-class animation capabilities in India.

“Monsters vs. Aliens” required more than 40 million
computing hours to make – more than eight times of
the original “Shrek” and nearly double of what it took
to create “Kung Fu Panda”. Audiences will experience
monsters in fluid-like motion with disappearing
arms and mouths and transparent bodies. To help
create visual effects for 3-D animation, DreamWorks
Animation had to allow the artists to fully utilise 3-D
capabilities by re-working its production pipeline and
design tools.

With HP technology, DreamWorks Animation can
utilise the largest number of moving cameras on any
of its films to date. This aided the company in taking
the creative elements in “Monsters vs. Aliens” to new
levels by combining several hundred HP workstations
with the largest and most powerful “render farm” – a
grouping of HP ProLiant Blade Servers that is able
to work quickly in concert to process the animation
sequence. This was the biggest set-up ever used by
DreamWorks Animation.
