Management Trainee Programme As a visionary publisher, we are committed to nurturing talent. In 2009, we introduced the Management Trainee Programme, the first of such kind in the publishing industry in the Chinese-speaking world. The moment you join us as our management trainee, you will embark on a two-year development journey. Our multifaceted programme allows you to gain a wide spectrum of experiences and a thorough understanding of our business and management. You will also be able to develop your critical thinking and adaptability to change. With such a varied experience, you will acquire a broad understanding of all the major aspects of our business, and develop both general management skills and specialised editorial skills. You will have the chance to work at two of our external partner companies whose nature of business is fundamentally different from that of OUP China. The experience of working at different business environments will further broaden your horizons. You will be assigned a mentor who is one of the directors of OUP China. You will receive from your mentor and senior management ongoing support and guidance as well as personal coaching on management concepts and business development. You will receive professional training in various areas, such as leadership, public speaking, budget management, etc. You will thus be able to develop the skills you will need to lead OUP China to succeed in the competitive business environment. 3 Photo © www.simplyoxford.com OUP formally set up its China headquarters in Hong Kong in 1961. At present, OUP China employs over 300 members of staff across Hong Kong, Macau, Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
