Adding Mobile Formatted Library Resources
To Your Smartphone or iPad with EZProxy Access
An ever-increasing number of library resources now sense that you have accessed them on a smartphone or tablet and
switch to a mobile formatted version. (See box at right.)
You can easily use any of these on your mobile device with either a cellular or wifi connection off campus if you set up a
shortcut on your home screen after logging in to EZProxy using your mobile web Browser (Safari). Here are the steps
(using iPhone):
1. Open Safari/Browser.
2. Navigate to the CoM Medical Library, http://med.fsu.edu/library
(Sorry, this is not currently mobile formatted.)
3. Tap the EZProxy button. Log in to EZProxy with your CoM username
and password.
4. Back on the Library page, tap on the MedResources button and pick
one of the resources at right like ACP Smart Medicine.
5. Once it opens, tap the
button at the bottom of the screen and pick
Add to Home Screen. Change the name to something short. Move the
new icon and put it with the rest of your medical apps icons.

To use the resource, tap the icon you set up. Once you have logged in to EZProxy, your smartphone should save the
username and password so that you will just have to tap log in. Also, if any resource is open in the browser in EZProxy,
you will not be prompted to sign in.
*Pediatric Care Online has an app. However, the web site contains many more resources than the mobile app, including
the Red Book. Because they have now developed a mobile formatted web site, it is possible to use the full website in
the browser on the smartphone or tablet with either wireless or cellular data
access instead of the app.
