Procedure
1. Log onto Addressing Disruptive and Noncompliant Behaviors (Part 1): Understanding the
Acting-Out Cycle (iris.peabody.vanderbilt.edu/bi1/chalcycle.htm).
2. Complete the Challenge cycle. How can Ms. Rollison determine what behaviors she should
address and when she should address them?
3. Use Appendix 20.01a to outline your personal example of the Acting-Out Cycle. Use the
format of the IRIS module to show what happened and how you resolved the situation. Using
examples from the descriptions found in the Resources section of this activity, make a movie
(three minutes maximum) showing the acting out cycle. Be sure to label (caption) each step of
the acting out cycle in your video. If you would like to work with a partner from your cohort
(recommended) you are welcome to create one together.
Refer to Appendix 20.01b for technical instructions on making and exporting movies. Before
exporting your movie, check that each step of the Acting Out Cycle has been depicted and
clearly captioned. You may view a sample video by clicking into the CalStateTEACHers'
Lounge=>Group Files=>Module 20 Video Example.
Submit your movie as a digital reflection of your learning in Module 20.
