Analysis of Supply and Demand of Indonesian Pulp and Paper in Domestic Market

Abstract
The objectives of this research are (1) to know the factors which affect supply and demand of
Indonesian pulp and paper, and (2) to know the response of supply and demand of Indonesian
pulp and paper to change the factors which affect them. The research used econometric model
with simultaneous equation two-stage least squares (2 SLS).
The result of this research showed that in general, all of explanatory variables can explain the
performance of supply and demand of
Indonesian pulp and paper model.
Some of endogenous variables were responsive to the change of explanatory variables, for
example: (1) pulp exports of Indonesia were responsive to the change of domestic production of
pulp and (2) price of Indonesian pulp was responsive to the change of domestic demand and
domestic supply of Indonesian paper.
