Purpose The local dimension of entrepreneurship is attracting growing attention from scholars, policymakers, and the leaders of local communities. Cities, particularly large metropolises, offer a unique environment for business activities, the latter contributing in turn to the socio-economic development of local communities. The main objectives of the Conference are: a) To evaluate practical solutions and instruments for supporting entrepreneurship in metropolitan areas. During the first day of the Conference, the representatives of major European and Polish cities will present and discuss their experiences in promoting entrepreneurship at the local level; b) To present the results of the research carried out by scholars from various countries, specializing in the local (particularly urban) dimension of entrepreneurship (the second day of the Conference); and c) To provide a forum for discussions and interactions between “practitioners” and scholars on various aspects of local (urban) entrepreneurship. Practitioners and scholars will be encouraged to actively participate in both sessions. The Conference is organized as part of the Project “Warsaw Entrepreneurship Forum” initiated by the Warsaw Municipality in collaboration with Kozminski University. The aim of the Project is to promote building entrepreneurial networks among entrepreneurs and opening communication channels between entrepreneurs and the local administration.
