The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, is organizing 2nd
International Conference on Power Generation Systems and Renewable Energy Technologies (PGSRET)
on 10-11 June, 2015 in collaboration with HEC and IEEE, at International Islamic University, Old Campus
(Faisal Masjid,E-8) Islamabad. The first conference in 2010 was a success in catalyzing interest in this
important topic among participants from industry, the national laboratories and academia.

Join us to investigate future power and energy technologies presented by leading industry and academic
experts in the power and energy field. The conference will promote academic and research collaboration
among universities and provide an opportunity for participating companies, academicians, researchers, and
students to interact. The conference will have a pool of active researchers, with a proper balance between
academia and industry, as well as between senior and junior researchers, including graduate students and
post-doctoral fellows. It is anticipated that such a balance will provide both senior and junior researchers an
opportunity to interact and to have a wider picture of recent advances in their respective fields.
The Conference theme covers many topics under various fields of electricity/power generation, sustainable,
as well as, renewable systems and technologies. The outcome of the topics, lectures, expert discussions,
presentations and latest R&D on different power generation systems and technologies will help Asia and
particularly Pakistan to overcome energy crises and power shortages. The experts will discuss possible
solutions on industrial and domestic energy production.
The conference, especially, enables the setting up of new interdisciplinary research directions among its
participants by establishing links with world renowned researchers, making possible joint international
projects that will no doubt bring about fresh and innovative ideas and technologies in energy and power
generation. You are invited to submit papers in all areas of power and energy engineering.
The Conference Proceedings will be published in IEEE Xplore Digital Library.
